RIP dear Mr. Hurt. You were not my favorite actor, but with your passing I realize now what an absolute sublime and virtuoso actor you were. Thank-you for your art. Watching this clip, one of my favorites of his, I wonder if William Hurt ever heard what the Ancient Greeks said about music...the story goes that there was great debate/discussion on what was the greatest art of the "7 Classical Arts." The consensus was, that music was the greatest of the arts...why? Because of all the arts, it was music that got you "closest" to the gods. Never thought about this when I saw this scene in the theatre all this years ago...watching again makes me think he had heard the story...
