Hardest problem for me is the router itself... My cordless DeWalt router seems to just bounce around no matter how hard I try to hold it in place. So many boards ruined by this router. Wondering if I need to try a different one.

Nice glue up, but did wood worker forget that tan masking tape exist. So many wood working videos have people using up expensive blue and green tape for unnecessary applications. Sorry pet peeve.

For anyone that sees this and needs to get the clamps out. Leave the two on the end. Loosen the middle clamps and lay them down. should be able to get them out that way. or at least move them closer to the end. Also, awesome video.

How long was the board. Looks to be around 4 ft?
@TheHansoost29 күн бұрын
If you cut slots in either end of the short (top) board and a corresponding hole roughly in the middle of the lower board, you can run a bolt and wing nut through each. Then you can move the upper board back and forth to accommodate different board widths. Of course your bottom board needs a rail attached to run in one of the saw's slots. (I always find that to be the tricky part.) I got this idea from a you tube vid. Woodworkweb maybe?

Why glue the together instead of just using a 4x4?

Not a big fan of grinding on the surface with sandpaper, there are way too many chemical preps, including plain vinegar, to convert the rust.

No need for dowels? Looking to make a simple tv stand about a yard long. Actually the TV is mounted on the wall above it so there wouldn't be any real weight on it. 😁👍

Any chance you could give an updated opinion, how do you feel about it today? Or ...if maybe you've moved on, and if so what you would recommend. Primarily work with untreated corral boards, 1x6x16 that always cut down to eight feet. Main goal is resawing those down to half inch. Thanks in advance, and my very best to you and yours! Cheers

So just found this video. I have purchased linear rails, guide and stop blocks, acrylic for router base, and a used 2¼hp Variable speed router. Still need to assemble vacuum parts like hose bib and sweeps. I am looking for a bit, so I stopped on this video. The link you posted has expired. But I searched the site. A bit here will cost me as much or more than everything else combined. 😧
