Well done! I'm a 43 yr HVAC vet and have been using a tensioning tool for at least 30 years. Doesn't take that much longer to verify that you have set it properly and gives you the opportunity to document the final setting on your ticket. Others will disagree because God blessed them with a calibrated finger to test the tension. I tried showing the use of this tool on one of my videos but my camera work and explanation was not nearly as good as yours.

in a dual fuel application without a communicating setup, a cold climate heatpump will cycle - doesn't work as full variable capacity. still should result in decently long cycles especially when wired as 2-stage. the moovair/midea literature suggests on dual fuel the 2-stage inputs to outdoor unit are coil temperature targets and furnace fan would run 2 distinct cfms, so effectively a 2-stage system.

Ive done roughly 75 cold climate inverter type heat pumps. When they work well they are a fantastic machine. The problem starts when technical support is needed when things like defrost cycles, thermistors, rv’s and pressure transducers act up. Ive found that the manufacturers that rebrand chinese machines have a lack of good tech support. The inverter board manufacturers dont share the algorithmic values with the tech guys which often slows the repair process. Other issues ive found is certain inverter models have crazy micro vibrations that echo inside the lines. Tosot is one ive had issues with despite all the best efforts to eliminate sources of vibration. Lastly, for some reason getting replacement parts is very difficult. I deal with master ottawa and they have very low supply of inverter parts. Just my two cents worth

What's an arching spark gonna do It's just gonna make that refrigerant. Ignite. till it Burns.out I. Got the time to sit and wait For it to burn out That's
@HVACKnowItAll5 күн бұрын
That depends on the lower flammability. If it builds up enough inside a space or cabinet to that limit then it will do more than burn.

No need for internet. It's common sense. What comes out if it's pressure high and there? Is no back pressure? There's no catastrophic failure.
@christianroysdon95625 күн бұрын
When I disconnect my. Line from my propane tank. Which I'm not gonna tell you what refrigerant that is. Propane is A refrigerant after all. Once I disconnect The Hose from the propane tank what.shoot out the other side of the hose. Is propane once disconnected it's under high pressure. propane is shooting out the other end disconnected So some of The Times I ignite the propane coming out of the line disconnect. And it ignites it Watch the fire, die out On the end that I disconnected from the propane tank. Why doesn't it go back in and explode? Because it's A pressure inside of a reservoir that is coming out the only way it can be sucked back in is if there's back Suction.pressure.
@HVACKnowItAll4 күн бұрын
I'm really not sure what your point is? Of course it won't explode there's no oxygen on the system.

In the refrigeration industry i deal with way more Highly. flambable refrigerants then R32. Can anyone tell me what refrigerant is R290 Or what refrigerator is R600 Please comment, These 2 refrigerants are way highly flammable than R32 alone. And I deal with them every day in the refrigeration industry.

I have a question for Joshua. I have an American Standard Platinum 18 heat pump... very similar if not identical to the variable speed Trane 18XV model. The air handler is a TAM9 equipped with 10kW of heat strips for auxiliary and emergency heat. I have been monitoring the kW utilization with an Emporia energy monitoring system to determine the total draw in kW for the HVAC system and the house. I'm doing this to determine how much power would be required for a whole-house generator system. The Emporia allows me to look at the draw (watts) from the heat pump and the air handler by the minute. These data show that the heat pump has short bursts of watts about every 20 minutes or so that last for about 10 minutes. These "pulse peaks" seem to occur regardless of temperature or whether the compressor is running (broad peaks of energy use). I wish I could include a graph! Anyway, what are these pulses, and do they have anything to do with the speed control of the compressor.

On chillers we can't test to really high pressures. There are relief valves. On 134a chillers, usually the high side relief is set for 325 and low side at 200. Low pressure chillers its a whole different animal. The burst disk is at 15psig. You test to a maximum of 10psi.

Weitron has been including the LH adapter with jugs of R32. I will say it hasn't been 100% consistan. I've seen pallets that let's say 20 cans had it while the other 20 did not.

So then the fitting or hose is good to have in case .

Absolutely. I've been telling contractors to purchase one and if they get a free one with the jug it's just a bonus. Most guys are used to the mini split adapter so keeping track of this new one shouldn't be to foreign.

Very informative video...Not sure if it's still relevant, but re the large D rings the strap attaches to, they are attached to the bag by a loop of material that forms a tunnel....On my MCT, that tunnel has just about enough space to thread either a cable tie or some wire, and you can form another loop to hang your drill from..I actually cable tied a small CLC drill holster on the side using that tunnel as the main anchor point, but that was for a smaller 12v drills... Another possiblity is that you might be able fix a Toughbuilt Clip-Tech clip through that existing metal tape holder and then you can clip a Toughbuilt drill holster on there...

More affordable becomes an IR thermometer with cheap thermal camera which can’t show temps other than where the IR point is aimed at. Thermal imagers are very useful especially with hydronic and radiant heat. I want the temps I am seeing to be close to accurate. Since I can’t get to the pipes in a radiant floor. I am in the market for a thermal imaging camera. I was looking at the flir E6 or E8. The C5 hand held might be a good compact camera. To fit in my pocket. As for troubleshooting condensers it will be very useful. Frozen hydronic pipes it might not be as useful. It should get me closer to where the pipe equals the interior of wall or sophit to find and defrost. Yet I need to buy hot-shot pipe thawing tool
