The 40 F minus 75 F in my opinion . The 40 F . is just the temperature at what the refrigerant begins to boil with out gaining any heat just as soon passed through the metering device. The more standard temperature measurements is Delta T . Temperature of the air coming in the evaporator and temperature coming out of the evaporator. The other temperature that is importance is S.H that is the gain of heat in the refrigerant after it saturated or is changing state from liquid to vapor. But this is a different way to see the temperature difference Thanks

TD is used in coil design and is very important.

Would this just be called superheat? Genuinely asking.

No, super heat is pipe temp minus SST

And you divide 35:in half and you get 17.5, which is close to your 20 degree split, which makes sense because that's halfway between the return air and the evaporator coils it passes through.

I use telta D

TD is different than Delta t, both should be checked
