Points to bear in mind: they seem to be Golf R fanboys - when the lads were comparing the sound and stuff they were with the windows open, actually the whole test with windows open while driving the golf R, however, windows closed while driving the S3. Second point as reagrding the S3 steering wheel being light, they never explained the fact that it is simple to change it to S3's Dynamic mode or set it on the individual mode, and the steering whell gets much better for racing. Last, but not least: No Launch control at all and 0-60 time comparison!

6 years after uploading this video. We did it. Traded in the 2016 Porsche 911 and bought a 2019 Mclaren 540c. Same colour is in the video, its a daily driver. 23k km's, warranty and some carbon options and a rear wing. I feel the inside has cheap parts but keep in mind, cheap is low weight. This thing is build for speed, can feel it right away. Just watch out for the speed bumps. Only strange thing occured is the fuel gauge, its going everywhere. Maybe it needs some calibration. Less luxury than the Porsche but its so much more fun. The suspension is even more soft than i tought. Only positives coming out. Lets see what the conclusion is after 3 months and 12 months.

Brilliant presentation. In depth review but begs the question “why am I not seeing you more frequently?”!!

Good video as always Ian. My wife bought one of the last Gen2 2.0 models as she prefers physical buttons to the glass "buttons" on the Gen 3. The 2.0 has enough power for her needs, is comfortable, spacious and is an enjoyable car to drive. I've driven every car in the Porsche range (I've owned every model except a Cayman) and whilst the Macan is billed as a sports car, gravity dictates that it doesn't feel as nimble as cars like the 718's and 911's - not even the Turbo with the Performance Pack that I previously owned felt sporty, but it was quick. It's nice to see you doing a review again. Happy New Year.
