I'm not ready for this yet, I have never recorded video on my camera, only my phone and only occasionally. I am curious, as with the new year, I'm in the mood for trying at least 1 new thing, what video editing software do you use? "If you are consuming more than you are producing" really resonated with me, it will be a long time before I forget that phrase, thank you.

Subscribed, love your content mix, found you as I was researching the Zf to use with some vintage glass I have but never used. My assignment will be to use all 7 lenses which will be fun as I generally only stay between 35-50. I wouldn't know what to do with an 18 or a 135mm lens :) This way I will learn something and maybe discover new FL to enjoy. Manual focus will also be new to me, I have only used AF lenses before. Might as well jump into the deep end first! I think Im finally convinced enough to buy the ZF now though.

I'm portuguese and also a photographer (mostly an editor nowadays) and I personnaly met Rui in a couple occasions. I don't mean any disrespect but there are things that, for me, lower the "value" of his work in the Street Photography category. Mainly two things: his inumerous copies of other peoples work and composition ideas; and the fact that he uses acquintances (namely his wife) to achieve his results. I would not call street photography when you ask your wife to pose and have all the time in the world to plan your exposure and settings and shot. Its her on the photo in the stairs with the doves in Oporto market - a copy from an original by Cartier-Bresson; and also from a jump over a puddle of water in the Elevador de Santa Justa (Lisbon). There are several shots where his planning involve previous talking with the subjects. In by humble opinion, that diminuishes the credit of a spontaneous street photography shoot. Nice video!! Cheers.

Thanks for watching and for the comment and context on these things! I can understand how someone may feel as if his value in the genre may be lowered due to these variables, for sure. However, in my opinion, if the work is good, the work is good - and should be studied. He may have some similar images he was inspired by Henri or others to take, but the execution and his expansive catalog of other works, still validate his elite skill level . Idk 🤷🏾♂️

@@blkmarz It is good and "elegible" for your channel. That's not in question. But when you pose or somehow direct your subjects in a composition, its no longer Street Photography, its photography on the street. That's all I'm saying. Steve McCurry's work is posed, directed and heavily edited and is awsome - a true study and probably one of the all time best. Just don't called it Street Photography. Cheers once again.

I'VE BEEN WORKING ON MY PROJECT FOR GOING ON 2 YEARS FAITHFULLY! IT MIGHT BE A LIFE LONG PROJECT TO BE HONEST... FOR I DON'T HAVE A DEADLINE IN MIND!!! I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO SHARE ANY OF IT ON INSTAGRAM OR OTHER SOCIAL MEDIA...SO I MIGHT PUT IT OUT IN FORM OF A ZINE OR BOOK MOST LIKELY! IT IS IMPORTANT FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS, TO WORK ON A SELF PROJECT...BECAUSE IN DOING SO, YOU LEARN ALLOT ABOUT YOURSELF IN THE PROCESS! SO MANY PEOPLE ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH THEMSELVES. PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECTS HEALS THE SOUL AND YOU'LL BE CLOSER TO BEING ONE WITH YOURSELF!!!! CROM DIGGAH -THE BLACKMAN ARMED WITH A CAMERA🤘🏾🤘🏾

Love the images. A court is so simple, yet you've found so many beautiful angles. There are no people, so it strikes the feeling of ... being alone? Quite different to your street work. I think you've helped me identify my problem at the moment - I haven't had a purpose in my photography, a direction, to head for.

Just stumbled here by coincidence and man, I really like your approach on the street. Open about what you're doing and not treating people as mere "subjects" but as human beings. That's way more important to me than what kind of camera you use. And really nice pics as they show real life. Thanks a lot!

I don’t usually leave comments, but after watching this video, I just had to say something. Your street photography is amazing-way better than what I’ve seen on some big camera review channels. You’ve got a real advantage here; your videos feel natural and super enjoyable to watch.A lot of what you said about the Nikon Zf really resonated with me. I’ve owned plenty of cameras, but this one is different. From the moment I picked it up, I knew I’d never sell it. I think it’s underrated. I’ve been using it with old and manual lenses, and the joy it brings to photography is something most cameras can’t match.I still shoot film sometimes, but after developing and scanning my own color negatives, I started questioning why I even bother. Since I got the Zf, I’ve been shooting film less and less. This camera is just that good.
@blkmarzАй бұрын
Thank you for such thoughtful feedback. Glad to hear you love the zf as much as I do! Lol that’s funny because I want a film camera but I’d probably end up feeling the same as you. Thank you for commenting! 🙏🏾✨
