That might help, but the gears are so cheap and soft, they strip way too easily. Especially on the foamy rudders.

Wait hang on a sec. You have 2 batteries plugged in this receiver yes? That receiver is designed to handle 4.8 V. By plugging 2 batteries you double the voltage for that receiver. Wont you damage the receiver by doing that? Just asking. Great video otherwise.
@ChunkyC_RC10 күн бұрын
Nope. If you study up on series vs. parallel circuits you will see that's a parallel circuit and the voltage remains at the battery voltage. It's not doubled. Now, if I ran the batteries in series, then the voltage would double. Good question 👍
@LSCModels10 күн бұрын
@@ChunkyC_RC Very interesting. Because when you plug say one in the receiver you should have 4.8 volts across the whole receiver, plug 2 in you double the voltage. Still confusing but interesting. Thanks brother.
@LSCModels10 күн бұрын
Do you think li-on batteries are safe for a RC receiver. Cuz there 1.5 V not 1.2 V do you think it might damage something inside the receiver? Just asking. Good Vid by the way.
@ChunkyC_RC10 күн бұрын
As long as the max voltage of a fully charged pack doesn't exceed the max voltage of the receiver your good. Energy is all the same no matter what type of cell it comes from.

Great video Chunky, and I agree with you regarding the beastx, I've just bought the TB40 TOP Combo!! So once again will have to troll the endless pages of crap on the BeastX wiki sight, sadly I've done it all before and it never gets any easier!! However I do enjoy the way the BeastX flies, I've been looking on the Wiki sight and I can't find the latest version of the manual 5.9.9 were you able to get a pdf for the manual and the quick start card ?

I haven't found anything new for 5.9.9. The only difference I saw was the change log at the beginning that told you what they fixed in the latest version. I've never found a PDF version of NONE of the manual versions.

I use two schottky diodes back to back so i can safely use two batts, a batt and a BEC, ESC and UBEC, any combination i want. An SBL 3040PT is a great schottky choice, 2 diodes in one package already connected right. I also use a 4700uf 16v capacitor across the buss
@superdon1chw15 күн бұрын
So it would probably be good to leave you BEC connected with extra battery back up what do you think ?
@ChunkyC_RC15 күн бұрын
Can you explain in a bit more detail? Do you mean a straight battery backup and a BEC? For example, a lipo connected through an ESC.
@superdon1chw15 күн бұрын
@@ChunkyC_RC Yea I have been told that it could damage you receiver, but I think your right I am thinking if voltage is the same it should not matter or even just below max voltage I think it should be OK what you opinion ?

@@superdon1chw just make sure the battery voltage is within the limits of the receiver and servos and you should be fine, with or without BEC.

Thank you for your video! Quick question mate, I bind receiver Flysky FS-iA10B (R1) which came with Flysky transmitter and works fine. I would like to bind another Flysky FS-iA10B receiver (R2) to same Flysky transmitter. Only one receiver will be operating at any given time. I would like to perform testing debugging without having to disconnecting/removing receiver (R1) mounted on Arduino ROBOT. Cheers mate!
@ChunkyC_RCАй бұрын
Just bind R1 as usual. Turn off R1 and then bind R2 as usual. Both receivers should receive same signal and operate simultaneously.

Would you recommend tightening down all screws w/loctite before the maiden flight?
@ChunkyC_RC2 ай бұрын
I would give it a good pre-maiden inspection looking for loose hardware and security of ball links etc.. Since I'm just hovering around, I didn't go through and Loctite screws. The screws on this thing are tiny. If you fly hard, then I would probably secure them. I did Loctite all the screws when I built the Align TB40. Thanx for the question.

Hey buddy I have the same receivers plus 2 another futaba receivers using the T16IZ. I've been doing a range check but losing signal from most of them around 50-60 meters and red light starts stuttering. Anybody have an answer? All are binded fine. Thanks 👍
@ChunkyC_RC2 ай бұрын
How do you have your antenna oriented? It's strange that all the receivers drop. Are the receivers in an aircraft. Maybe do a check with just receiver in the open (not installed in aircraft).
@CptZypher2 ай бұрын
Hey bud thanks for the reply. 90° as stated in manual. I had a friend stand at my front house door with Tx then I walked up my street to this distance then red light starts stuttering, FAR too short for this equipment so I'm hoping the houses are interfering so I will apply the same aspect at my local open flying field to see if that makes a difference. Fingers crossed. Weird one 😕 any knowledge would be appreciated off anyone. Thanks👍
@ChunkyC_RC2 ай бұрын
Wait a minute!! In your original post you said you did a range check at "50-60 METERS". That's WAY TOO FAR. That's 170 to 195 feet away, too far away for range check. When you put the transmitter in range check mode, it drops the signal strength to a fraction of its original power. You only need to walk away 30 paces, approximately 90 feet. It sounds like your simply walking too far.
@CptZypher2 ай бұрын
@@ChunkyC_RC Hi. I did not set the Tx or Rx to range check I simply had it set up as if I was about to fly and walked away and the disruption happens. I will actually try the range check also but can't see that making a difference. Thanks

Just bought one of these i have a query? You said in the video that you only need the soft switch do you not put independent switches on the batteries as normal for charging and turning on or off the batteries before turning on/off the system. Thank you. Atb from the UK 🇬🇧
@ChunkyC_RC3 ай бұрын
No need for more switches. Just plug the batteries directly into the unit and the single switch will handle it all. You can remove the batteries and charge on the work bench or charge in place if you have long enough charging leads. You can install more switches if that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy....but it's not necessary. Thanx for the question 👍

Mine has Nylock nuts that rest in a plastic holder that receive the landing gear screws. I lost a screw and the nut rotate just enough that the screw wouldn't engage. There is no way to access that nut. Horizon Hobby told me the fix was to replace the fuselage. I drilled two holes in the battery tray to straighten the nut and then applied a drop or two of epoxy to stop it from happening again. I also replaced the provided screws with button head socket screws to eliminate the problem of screwdriver drifting off. They also look better.

Interesting. The description on Helidirect (for the S2 pulse) left me scratching my head, it lists 2 batteries and a matt for a significant increase (+$64 when not on sale) even today at %15 off, it's still a $32 difference from the standard BNF S2; just not worth it IMO at that price difference. But if your getting the two batteries on top of the originally packaged and a 2nd canopy...I can jump on board. The matt is a meh addition.

Hi, Chunky C! What did you do to straighten out your Commander from pitching up? I also moved my batteries as far forward as I could, and it's still floaty. CG looks good... I had to put ~20+ clicks of down elevator on the trim. OR just fly ~35-40% most of the time to stay level. -mikey
@ChunkyC_RC6 ай бұрын
If the CG is correct then make sure all flight controls are neutral. Never assume the factory got it right. If the flight controls are neutral then it could be an incidence issue, but it being a foam molded plane, there's not much you can do about that except to trim it for neutral. Fly the plane and trim at around 75% throttle (or what % you normally fly it). When you land, take a look at the position of the elevator and re-center the trims. Disconnect the ball link from the elevator control horn and adjust the ball link until the elevator is in the approximate position that it was in when it was trimmed. Continue flying, trimming, and adjusting until it flies level when all trims are neutral. It may take a few flights to get it right, but hey, you were planning on flying it anyway. Do this on all surfaces, aileron, elevator, and rudder. All planes fly a little different. I do recall my Commander having a tendency to pitch up. I just trimmed and left it. Also, if you trim step in your radio is set to "fine" then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hope this helps...

Hi Chunky C! (subscribed) - You're right, 4S is sweet with this baby. I'm a newbie, so I tend to keep it 50% or less throttle most of the time. But every once and a while gotta go balls to the wall!! :P Also, I lost a screw on the landing gear. This time I added Loctite as you mentioned! -mikey
