People seem to misunderstood the story themes. It's as the title says "Let It Die". You reach the end of any game that's it. You pretty much seen everything the game wanted you to see and now it's time to end it but rather then end the game Death instead insists you keep playing. Saying that this new game still has more to offer but it's just the same game still that was artificially extended, literally. So the game doesn't have an ending. Death choosing to not give us a Finale is a fate worse than death itself. Meaningless violence we're simply meant to indulge in as the games world crumbles around us. It's why Death has hypnotic glasses. He's trying to trick you into playing the game. So the correct answer is to NOT play the game. Which gives it a double meaning. You have to let you love for things die out naturally or they'll be warped into something grotesque and unrecognizable. Once you beaten the game did you feel fulfilled or did you have an uncontrollable desire to keep going? Look at the current state of media as it is now with Remakes of movies, show, and videogames we all used to play. Turning into unrecognizable properties that are just mere shells of their former glory. Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Final Fantasy 7... Why do you think Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) worked on this game? It's daring and bold for a videogame to essentially say "Stop playing the same games". Stop making more Star Wars. Stop making more Indiana Jones. Make something original and bold or just get over it already. It's why Suda51 rarely makes sequels to his other games. They may inhabit the same world sometimes but he's always trying to do something completely unique in different in an industry that's all too comfortable making the exact same games like everyone else. The "souls-like" combat was even deliberate as it's showing how truly homogenized we've grown in design. Can't wait to play more of what I already just played. Again and again. But if you're the kind of player to actually get to this ending you're already fully entranced by the allure of the industry. You're already too busy playing the game looking into Deaths hypnotic glasses to even notice what just actually happened. To be honest, I never finished the game. I've held up my curiosity up until now, but I couldn't manage not knowing what would be atop the tower. I don't know what I expected, but it certainly wasn't this. What a weird game.

i loved the ending it was a little weird but this is how LET IT DIE works i got satisfyed after this ending i was crying of happiness for killing the final boss but after i found out that uncle death was the one who made this place i got shocked all this hell is made by Death himself but in the end all he wanted was to play a video game with hes senpia.. that is pretty much the entire plot of the game but this plot was really worth it it was the BEST ENDING in the best game ever known the ending was totally worth the 100 deaths even though i just died 74 times but anyway i died less than 100 so that is some kind of good record ON FIRST TRY!!

heresey to say, but this makes me glad i didn't finish it, the game can be a nightmare to play at times, despite how fun it is. i din't think i could do post-game on top of that. :| much as i like souls, a souls-like has to actually END for me. i know it stops you after you reach floor 251, but still. after that, there's only the pvp, but even then you're just encountering players who have reached the same level as you. great game, great ending, shame i can't keep up with Suda51.
