I totally LOVE your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent for music and teaching it so well. After two years of playing around with the harp I don't suck as much (no pun intended) - but I have one burning question. It's about the hand grip. Years back I broke my left wrist and the idiot doctor didn't set it right, so now I have limited mobility in that hand. I can't bend my hands in the correct starting position without feeling it's awkward, also a bit painful. So my question is (harmonica riff here) is there an alternate hand position I can apply? Again, thank you so much for your clear, concise videos, and you're pretty cute too.

What about the blues harp? Is that the same as the first one you were talking about? I have a Hohner blues harp from the 90’s I still have. I was injured and didn’t play for almost 20 years. I’m basically starting all over. Got my two sons playing with me this time! 11-7 and they are kicking butt. Got them a couple of easttops that have rounded edges and the back holes are on the top and bottom. I did t realize the holes were there till they got them. Can’t find any reviews on them Either but they actually sound really clear. For sure some great starters. I was looking into the sets of 5-7 for the Hohner blues harps and they are way up there in price. I think the 5 pack was about $230 and for the 7 pack it’s about $375.. I really like them because of the wood it feels nice. I also like them because weight of them. They are a little heavy but it feels comfortable. I got a set of 7 that are JDR’s and they are ok and good for playing and sharing with my boys to learn but I’d like to get us each a set of 7 the 5 set seems ok but I’m not sure if I’ll need the others. Seems as of the set of 5 would give me all I need. Here’s the thing friend. When I get these sets for us I’m hoping these will be the last ones we’ll need as far as a complete set or close enough I guess. Just not sure which ones to spend the money on? Would you say a set of those for nice professional harps to last a lifetime? I’d really like to get them some nice ones. I know it’s expensive to get something like that when they or we are all starting out but I’m not to healthy and kinda want to leave them with these incase I’m not exactly around to do this as they progress… it’s the old ones that actually say “blues harp” little blue plastic case.

Excellent!! Picked up a C harp my partner had around the house and played Piano Man. My kids all did a double take and asked if that was me or the recording I was listening to. Both. I've always played instruments. So it was not all that difficult. Man that took hold of me playing that harmonica. I have a lot of them now and played in my band and now solo. Thanks for this video!

I self taught Stephen Foster, Camptown Races. But, my tongue blocking chords were uncovering my tongue on the right side, lead on the bottom. I heard that is wrong. I should play lead line on top right and left side tongue uncover for the rhythms. Rhythm, attack the doctor, attack the dirty dog. That is what a book taught me.

Wow, i'm so good now! My trick for doing the single note, is like 'kissing' the top and bottom of the plastic. I put the harmonica in my mouth like you say, and close my mouth until I feel the plastic and it's not that hard. The hard thing now, is learning the muscle memory to know where are the 5 and 6 etc etc
