You are such a great teacher, explaining things that are subconscious for experts and remembering to explain them to us is a true talent.

As someone who listens to a lot of Willie and Waylon and the boys, I would love to see a list of the top country harmonica songs!

Thanks for the tabs Luke, interesting comparison. I like to play with the Lee Oskar melody maker. It's quite easier for me to play along original songs. 3 👍 for Lee Oskar MM Greatings from Berlin, Ingo
@Harmonicacom10 ай бұрын
Right on Ingo! Yeah, the Melody Maker is a GREAT tuning. Also you have Imaj7 draw and iim7 blow chords which is a very common progression in reggae and soul so can work great in those contexts as well!

What key would be your first choice?
@Harmonicacom10 ай бұрын
Maybe a key of C? That way you could compare it to your regular C harmonica and I think a lot of melodies in the key of G would be practical.( Of course, if you bought a Melody Maker that would be a G because they're labeled in 2nd position.)

Y'all should do a video on the tools for your harmonica and how to use them. Because I'm too lazy to learn from my mistakes. Would rather learn from someone who already made all the mistakes for me.

After listening to some of your explanations on what country tuning is this one I almost understand, but I still can't find the knobs like on my guitar that I can turn on the harmonica to change the tuning. 😢
@Harmonicacom10 ай бұрын
🤣 Yeah, you gotta shell out $50 instead of turning a knob or 2!!!

I purchased a g wanting a little lower key, but it was just too unplayable!!! Is Lee Oskar with type c is the right one? Or what about Trochilu harmonica, which type I need? Solo or pop? I am new player, I really appreciate your help. Thank you.
@Harmonicacom3 ай бұрын
You bought a Lee Oskar Melody Maker key of G? Those are labeled in 2nd position, so key of G is comparable to a C harmonica. If you want a low key, you want key of D - that's in the range of a standard G harmonica. If you're talking about country tuning, then just the key you want. Hope that helps!

Oh that’s nice. If we play more country type songs would you recommend that tuning over the richter tuning?
@Harmonicacom7 ай бұрын
Depends what time country. Folk country like Neil Young Bob Dylan? No. Charlie McCoy style stuff? You may wanna consider for sure! Anything that's spending a lot of time on the V chord, and you wanna play more soulful 2nd position vibe vs folksy 1st position vibe, then the country tuning is SUPER helpful.

Is it possible for one to play the Sesame Street theme on a "country-tuned" harmonica?
