I have gotta admit that I'm always impressed to see how intricate these patterns are, and how you hand dye and treat your veg tan to make it look like premium leather. Really amazing. Insane to see you hand stitch the whole thing too.

I have a comment for you guys I have been doing leather work for 45 years, you do have great patterns that are very pretty. There is only one bad mistake you make... when you dye Veg tan leather that is not going to have a lining you always avoid staining the flesh side of the leather if that is going to be visible. In your video I can see the stains in the interior part of the flap of the pocket and in the interior of the bag. . That makes the bag have a sloppy finish that does not look professional and takes away the quality of the final product.. Always keep the flesh side of the leather nice and clean if that is going to be visible and your final product is going to be perfect. !!!

After printing the plans, watching the video punching all the holes and cutting out all the pieces I realised you’ve made the inside and outside of the billfold section the same length so there’s no allowance for the wallet to fold. Rookie mistake in your pattern and in me not picking it up till it was too late.

This is a specially applied solution for people starting their adventure, without the need to glue the skin and with minimal tools. I know that this way the wallet bends worse, but, something for something ;) Just crease your wallet in half - mine is holding up just fine

Hi! I am just about to finish your pattern (which I love btw), but I found that I have two spare pieces that didn't go into the final pattern?

Thank you for the video tutorial... your patterns are gorgeous... BUT... a couple of notes on the tutorial... 1. Put chapters in so we can forward to the place we need to view for the next step 2. TURN OFF the auto focus on your camera and set the focus manually so that it stops shifting back and forth - we lose what you're doing when the camera is blurry 3. DO NOT choose black leather for your tutorials... especially with all black pieces. There is no contrast, so we can't see what you're doing very clearly. Light materials show more details (Not white though - it can present the same issue) 4. Remember the purpose of your video - this is not a showcase of finished pieces - this is a tutorial. It's not supposed to look pretty in the end, it's supposed to teach. Using contrasting pieces of different colors and use a thread that contrasts strongly, so that we can see what you're doing.

I have two questions: 1. Can this bag be made using a machine too? not entirely, just to facilitate some parts? 2. How does the bag stand so firm? so upright?

Thank you for the pattern! I’ve made several of your other items and am excited to make this. Is there a way to make it so the year can be changed easily? I’m giving this as a gift and the recipient doesn’t sew. I thought about a snap but don’t want to punch through the lettering.

That is a good question I would not go then with the year counting,- do something more personalized, like initials or a name

I sadded a stick of red to the holes on either side of the head that I thought looked like the right position for eyes and it added a little something extra to it.

I have a question. It may be stupid but what leather do you use for what parts? It calls for some 5oz and 3oz but the pattern doesn’t say which leather is which part. When I try and click on the cutting video, it says video unavailable.
