@@MetalGodOfLegend Really? Why?
@MetalGodOfLegendАй бұрын
@@CarloFenrir pickups just don't sound right to me. floyd rose is a pain in the ass to maintenance. doesn't stay in tune (idk if its my fault or the guitar itself) and i honestly don't find much use for the whammy bar currently, but that's just me. i also bought it within only 3 months of guitar experience, and getting a floyd rose as your first guitar as a beginner is just the worst idea ever. so idea. basically left there to take dust, but tomorrow i will bring it to a shop for resell.
@CarloFenrirАй бұрын
@MetalGodOfLegend Oh ok. Yeah, I agree, getting a Floating Bridge as a beginner is not a good idea unless you have someone who can set it up or can teach you. I made the same mistake years ago. That might be the problem, because mine stays in tune whatever I do with it. Pretty solid. The pickups are just normal, but you can swap them and have a great guitar. Too bad you are selling it. You can try and ask some who knows how to set a floyd rose to set it up correctly and see how it plays. A tip: be sure that the locks on the neck are tight (not crazy tight but yes) because sometimes they are a bit loose or not tight enough and that can make the strings to get out of tune. Thanks for watching.
@MetalGodOfLegendАй бұрын
@CarloFenrir i do make them tight. Well, to be fair im happy with selling this guitar, because if i sell this guitar i will be getting a Solar A1.7. 7 string guitar, active pickups, locking tuners, solar brand so it's a garancy, and i also pay it 600 usd instead of 1600, so yeah if i gotta sell my Kelly for getting that beast at a basically gifted price... so be it

Man, I just bought this exact guitar, and I'm having exactly the same problem. Sounds terrible "out of the box" and also needs some fretwork. Trying to decide now wether to return the guitar or put in the effort to fix it. Wish I had seen your video before I bought the guitar; I would have chosen a different one.
@CarloFenrir2 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that man. Tbh mine was great out of the box, even the frets were ok. However the problem was the hum and noise from the pickups and paint in the hardware not letting the guitar make proper ground. It can be a great guitar like mine ended up being but I just swapped the pickups and that's it. In your case you have to do more stuff, but in my expierence with cheap guitars (look my 2nd Epiphone SG video) even if you return this one and buy another one at the same price range, you might end up in a similar situation. At least my Jackson didn't had the problem the Epiphone did and was playable. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I'm using it. Now that I think about it, I should do a review about it. It's a great amp man, I love it. The clean channel is awesome for prog metal and stuff like that because it's not super bright. And the gain channel it's a some kind of combination of orange original sound and a more modern approach. It's a very versatile amp. Mine is the mkI but there's a mkII now. I want to buy the mkII too, I think it is voiced a little bit more modern. And to me it sounds a lot like a tube amp, at least on recordings, in person my 5150 just obliterates everything.

love all of these, but headfirst for halos has to be my goat 🔥awesome skills man!
@PatrikF6664 ай бұрын
if you have the skill you can plug the old bridge screw holes and drill new ones using a drill press. Ive done it to a few of my guitars that i had for a few years that have compressed due to the climate i live in. The problem is most likely that the wood wasnt dried properly when they made the guitar, due time the wood has dried and compressed. pushing the bridge a few millimeters.The climate might also be a factor since wood is "alive". Or they just didnt give a shit at the factory. I know it sucks when you spend money and things dont work the way they should. Been there myself. once bought a brand new ibanez prestige for about 2000$, after 3 weeks the neck was so bent it looked like a skateboard ramp. i tried straightening it by clamping it to a really straight surface for almost 9 weeks. I used a heatgun every now and then and a wet rag to make the fibers expand, it fixed it somewhat but not entirely. i sold it later at a reduced price since you normally dont get your money back or anything when its a climate issue. Also you should change the bridge on that guitar while youre at it.
@CarloFenrir4 ай бұрын
Man, first of all thanks for watching and commenting. And what you say is 100% accurate. This video is kinda old, right now I fixed the guitar by puting the bridge a few milimeters back. Well, not me, I don't have the skill but my luthier did. And I'm sorry to hear that something like that happened to a 2000$ guitar of yours, I would go insane to be honest. But like you said, we can't do much with things that are of a natural cause like the weather. Putting the bridge a few millimeters backs solved the issue, however I feel guitar brands should be careful with the QC. Because Epiphone is a big brand, it's not just a unknown guitar brand that just appear out of nowhere. It was an easy fix but it can be a nightmare for someone else. Thanks again for watching and for the info!
