100% SCAM. Im not sure if they started off to scam people but it is what's ended up happening. I finally got my order 3/2024, original order date 2019. The extreme doesn't work. As soon as I start to charge devices on the Qi pads the extreme blinks all red and powers down. The Life has been charging for 29 hours and is still on 5 out of 10.

I have been using Air and Extreme for a few months now. My Anker 10,000mah power bank outperforms Extreme. Air is only 6000mah. Extreme is 3 Airs connected together. The specs printed on it even say, 6000mah*3. They work but not a great value.

I think part of the issue with kickstarter or indiegogo is that people don’t understand that what they are giving money towards, is development and research, along with manufacturing. They assume that the moment the campaign finishes, the product goes directly to manufacturing for shipping out starting on a specific date.

It's absolutely a scam

This is going to be very long. I was introduced to Magfast in July 2019. After watching their promising, pitch on a revolutionary new charging system, I signed up and $400 CAD {297 USD} departed my wallet to secure the Magfast Pro Family kit, comprised of 2 x Double Power WALL units, Extreme, with booster cables Life, Air and Travel. The CEO, his friends call him Seymour, embraced the ''average Joe'' image, rather than the suit and tie, blue chip counterpart. prior to opening my wallet, I checked online, and it seemed to be a legitimate, if not revolutionary company that perhaps had better design ambitions than manufacturing experience. Even today, if you Google ""is Magfast legit"", the majority of posts are favorable. Apparently, they received hundreds of thousands of orders. Then came Covid, and it was understandable that there would be a delay, in every aspect of production and delivery. The problems began to emerge when 2 years passed, and nothing had been released to the marketplace. Then in July 2022, alas, a status update, I was assigned batch number 20, claiming my expected delivery was April 2023. I received this email from Magfast support ""We can’t yet predict exactly when you will receive yours… but the news is consistently better. As production ramps, we will be able to predict shipping dates with increasing accuracy, and we will post shipping batches on the status page of the website."" As of today, August 6, 2023, the latest status update, reported batches 8-11 had been shipped. The Magfast.com/status page no longer exists, but before it went offline, it stated all lots 12 and up, were ""DELAYED"", six months later, still listed as delayed. Furthermore, even in the delivered lots 1-11, two components of the kit, { 3 out of 6 units} were absent Wall and Road, There was no information as to when these items would be manufactured or shipped, simply classified as TBA. I am curious if several thousand units have been shipped, why are there so few independent reviews online. You'll find reviews on their new LUX cable, and even that is somewhat marginal when compared to the 100-watt Anker USB-C cable which is half the cost. What is really infuriating is the early adopters whose participation allowed Magfast to emerge from an earlier failed launch in 2017, is that there is no transparency or information on what is going on. To add fuel to the fire, rather than address delayed orders, and product delivery, Magfast seems focused on launching new products, such as their so-called ""deluxe"" USB-C cable ""LUX"" and fancy luggage ""Heathrow"". Technology: I don't even think their chargers are that great, compared to current offerings For example, they claim their Life unit is 6 times more powerful than the typical marketplace charger, it is listed for $136.00 CAD. It has a 6,000 mAh battery, whereas the Anker offers a 10,000 mAh charger that even offers wireless charging and magnetically sticks to the back of your phone {Does the job of both Life and Air, another $136.00} for a tidy $99.00 CAD. As for a portable power bank to start your car, I'll stick to the experts in the field like NOCO. What is really curious, is these state-of-the-art power supplies, require a third-party charger to even use them, and Magfast provides no information on the specifications for the appropriate charger. They simply state you probably already own a wall adapter/charger......I wonder how long it would take to charge up their Extreme unit, using a 2 year old 16 watt charger. Shameful. So to wrap up, would I buy today, what I now know from personal experience. NO, HELL NO!!! I am 66 years old, with 40 years of computer experience going back to when Xerox had the best computer on the market {which both Bill Gates and Steve Jobs stole from}. As long as Magfast refuses or simply can not answer customer and investor questions, as to production deadlines, and delivery targets, it is a ship in the ocean without a captain, and it's heading for an iceberg Steven Bely President BDR Computers

I ordered my two pro-kits in 2020 and received my life, extreme, and air sets a couple of months ago, and absolutely love them. The whole qi wireless not needing to have wires at all is what I had been waiting for somebody to come out with for years and jumped on it as soon as I saw them. Patience is a virtue!!!

you know what’s crazy? I almost spent 800+ on the website in 2020…and just wait on when it came out but I decided not to because there was no review to see how it is in the real world. Here we are in 2023 and still not one product actually out to all the people that they stole from. I cannot believe the bs they all have done to so many people lives. There is always a delay to why nothing is out yet, Design problems, manufacturing problem, legal issues, health issues or just no reason. but they still accept money no matter what and ask for more in stock options and other crap they make up to pull more money out of anyone they can convince to buy some bs on the site, wtf are they designing new products and launches on them and still haven’t released the first ever fucking product…I’m so mad cause their tech was so cool in 2019-2020 and now it’s the most useless crap that no one can use anymore even if they did make it and ship it out. There is plenty of companies that’s have copied parts of the products and now magfast is obsolete.

Nice video. What a pain in the ass right? My batteries wont even turn on. Did you have to hack into the battery with software at all or did just balancing the voltage on each do the trick? So you set your buck for 4.29v at 2000mA? What’s the lowest current tou think it will trickle charge at? Or do you think it needs about 2A to work? Thanks so much!

I have searched for information about other people’s experience with Magfast for nearly five years. There is practically nothing on social media. I wonder why? There is a little bit of info available if you visit the BBB website in NY state and it is not encouraging. This is the first bit of content that I have seen that actually ASKS THE QUESTION. I must say that I am surprised this video even exists. The logarithms seem to have hidden it well. As an early purchaser and investor, my experience with the company goes back over five years. I initially did business with them (before they were Magfast) when I purchased a product (I think they called it the Thing). It was a charger that fit the wall socket and allowed charging without covering up the plug outlets. I have a lot to say about Magfast and there will be more to follow. But, in the meantime, caveat emptor if you are thinking of making a purchase or investing.

Today I successfully replaced the PCB on the Milwaukee M18/5Ah batteries. When I soldered all the contacts and pressed the control button, none of the LEDs lit up? But when I put it in the charger the battery worked like new because the Milwaukee Intelligent Charger unlocked the battery!

MagFast is a great company, with great ethics, that makes GREAT state-of-the-art-products! I don’t know what your beef is “William”… but I LOVE my MAGFAST charging system (I bought the complete product line) as well as their newest product, the unparalleled “Lux” charging cords. The “Lux” is absolutely nothing like any other charging cord you’ve ever used, or seen anywhere in the world! I even bought several additional Lux cords to give as gifts this year. As the Holy Almighty God is my witness, this is an HONEST consumer opinion.

I ordered the Pro Kit in July of 2019 and have yet to get anything . Right now, I'm chalking up $300 as lost money as they continue to scam people with a new product that they now claim is delivering immediately. In other words, my order will take at least 3nearly 4 years to deliver (*if at all) and they are now delivering new product (Lux cables) immediately to their customers .I don't really believe that their new LUX customers will get much either. They have run a couple of crowdfund campaigns to take from Peter and give to Paul so I'm hoping someday my outdated chargers show up at some house I don't live in anymore. Try finding bad reviews. It's almost impossible as they must spend all their time figuring out ways to flood social media with positive ones. Interesting how ALL the positive reviews have not received any product yet. There are thousands of pre-orders in my shoes and yet it's hard to find any frustrated customers. Something is rotten in Denmark or NY.

Looking more and more like a SCAM or Ponzi scheme. Now they have launched a new product before delivering the first product. Maybe the new product will pay for the first product and we can finally get what was ordered YEARS ago.

They are not a scam, just a poorly run company that can't figure out a way to ship anything. If any real customers had a kit, do you not think at least one of them would have posted an unboxing review on KZbin. I guarantee, had I received something before finally cancelling my order I'd have recorded and posted a review.

You should TAPE or otherwise INSULATE those two wires while you are messing with connections, etc. If they short, that will not be good...

You're spot on. The Blackfly looks like a winner for sure!

The plastic is about 0.5mm thick in this area. I was able to cut it out easily with the sharp tip of a hot soldering iron set to about 350 degrees C. I cut through the top, left and bottom sides first, then part way through the right side and levered it open with a screw driver. I just gently ran the tip of the iron along the lines several times going a little deeper each time. It helped having the battery secured in a clamp to hold it steady. I would recommend this approach if you have a fine tipped soldering iron because you can do it in a controlled manner with little risk of mechanical damage to the connecting wires. It's easy enough to clean the tip afterwards, or use an older tip that's passed its best for soldering purposes.
