Yes I’ve used different gloss coat products e.g future floor polish. Mr Color super clear seems to be a top gloss coat that you could try too

No, the resin is so soft and after a couple of mishaps I decided it wasn't worth the risk
@calvin148882 жыл бұрын
@@TonyMicilotta Ya, I'd assumed so cuz G-System resin is not that good. I've got the GSB version and the quality is day and Night compare with G-System 🙂
@calvin148882 жыл бұрын
This is not a snap kit, the neck you need to think a way to attach it eg. brass rod...None of the parts will be snap fit mostly such as the back of the piece you're mentioning, you need to think of a way to either modify the part to fit or modify the back of the torso to fit. You need to use pin, rods, even magnet for resin kits this is what resin kit is all about...

@TonyMicilotta3 жыл бұрын
It used to be called Future Floor Polish or Klear depending on the region I believe. As stated on the bottle in the video, it’s now branded as Pledge Multi-surface Wax. Note that it does not offer UV protection like top coats created specifically for model making.

I read somewhere that the proportions thinner varnish are 4 to 1. 4 parts thinner and 1 part varnish ( for airbrush) is that correct?
@TonyMicilotta3 жыл бұрын
Different brands will having various thinning recommendations, especially if you’re comparing an acrylic to say a lacquer like Mr Color GX which is 1 part varnish to 1.5 parts thinner. 4 Parts thinner to 1 part varnish seems extremely thin. I recommend starting at 1:1 and then adding more thinner if required.

I think the medium you are using hardeb«ns to fast an there is not enough time to release the air. Maybe trying something more fluid and with more a longer curing time would do the job.

If you scratch the liquitex hard enough with your fingernail - before and after adding the permaseal - will the paint scrape off? I’m having trouble with this issue when I put liquitex on my resin statues.
@TonyMicilotta5 жыл бұрын
Philip Burkart yes it’s an acrylic paint so it’s not very tough. If you’re going to be handling your models something like Mr Color GX lacquer paint will be good but you’ll need to take extra precautions due to toxicity.

My gosh that looks good. Are these paints you're using good to use on a 1/6 scale plastic body like a Hottoys figure? I'm having to paint the neck of a body where the headsculpt scuffed it up real bad. Whoever owned it before me was kinda rough with it I guess. If you have a suggestion on what kind of paint I can use I just need to do the skin color on the neck. Thank you. I appreciate any help at all. Your figure there looks awesome man.

@TonyMicilotta5 жыл бұрын
Chris Bradley Hi Chris, acrylic varnish is water based while a polyurethane varnish can be oil based. Since you’re varnishing a guitar that I assume will be played, have you considered using a lacquer?

H ALI Crafts sadly it goes sticky and it doesn’t really work. I’ve tried it on mh faceups before but it’s really really bad. Beside msc, I use liquitex Matte medium or Vallejo premium colour matte varnish. But both use with airbrush. With liquitex matte medium I’ll have to thin it down to use with airbrush. :)

How long is the dry wait between the primer, 1st and second acrylic paint coat?
@TonyMicilotta5 жыл бұрын
Johnhae P it depends on the weather, but 20minutes between each of the above is usually fine if you do thin coats. I then let it rest for a day so that it can cure before applying a gloss coat.
