Just bought new skates, my toes dont brush the cap when sitting but when I stand I would say it is more of a push then a graze. I know baking might free up a couple mm in the back but Im a little nervous because there isnt that much foam to compress at base of heel. If I need to add an insole to pull the toe back a touch dobspeedplates do that at all ? I would need something very thin and for that reason superfeet wouldnt work (plus my arch doesnt like them anyways)

Speedplates MIGHT work, but their purpose was to form to your foot and not support your arch. But if they manage to form correctly when your knees are bent they might keep your foot from collapsing to help pull the toes back.

Are you going to review the new PSHS sticks? They’ve been out for a few months but there’s a shockingly low amount of online content about them. I know you loved the yellow line so I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the new V line and on how the OG line compares to the old yellow line and redline! (PSHS says the OG is the same as the old redline but the OG seems like 20-30 grams heavier than the old redline so there’s probably some slight differences)

Performance wise, all of the higher end skates aren't going to make a massive difference. Fit and comfort will be bigger factors.

Looking for some advice on the accuracy of the Bauer 3d Scan Fit recommendations and my recent purchase. I can return for full credit for another 27 Days. I'll include as much Detail as possible (apologies for length). I played in prep school and in college, now 35. Have not skated in a league since Covid 4+ years ago; but was on ice almost daily from age 5/6 until 22ish; then 1-3 times a month until 2020. I moved recently and finally have time/location allowing me to get back into men's league and on the ice. SUPER pumped. Always skated on CCM 10s; had multiple pairs of CCM Vectors 2007/2008 version. Bought these, liked them, bought multiple additional pairs and stuck with them all through college. Last pair I owned just died after numerous repairs. All out collapsed on Pond this past week. These skates in a 10 fit great after a significant amount of break in they were like a glove. I spent Friday trying on probably 10-15 different skates as its my first purchase in 15+ years and technology has changed a ton. The Bauer machine at Pure Hockey recommended a 11 Fit 2 (I HAVE a picture of my Scan- happy to share in DM). I was shocked by the recommendation of an 11 as I'd been mostly trying on 10s before getting to Pure Hockey store which had the scan. I ended up purchasing Bauer Hyperlight 2 in a 10.5 FIT2. I typically wear a size 11.5 or 12 sneaker brand depending (not that it matters). Even returned a size 12 'APL Brand' sneaker recently for a 12.5...who knows with sneaker size. I spent in total about 5-6 hours on the Bauer Hyperlight 2s this weekend on pond- aka imperfect ice. They felt decent...some minor discomfort on my inner ankle...but I've not skated for years and pond ice is imperfect. Note I ALWAYS went barefoot- but my tough Hockey feet and calluses are LONG GONE- using Hockey Socks which I bought and really liked. FIT = my longest toes are brushing the tip of the toe...the Hyperlight 10s felt small when I tried them on...but this was PRE baking. The CCMs in a 10 did not feel too small but were just flat out less comfortable to me and I tried like 5 pairs (thought I'd end up in a CCM as always used them). Now that they are baked I'm going back and forth on if I should go down to a 10 or even spend and extra $200 and order a custom size at like a 10-10.25. Let me know if I can share my 3d Fit scan and get some advice.

Did you try Fit 3 in any of the skates in a smaller size? Or just Fit 2 in a 10 for CCM and Bauer? Without knowing how the skates all fit while sitting vs while standing it is hard to gauge what the proper fit would be. I always recommend the pen/pencil test behind the heel to be an easy gauge on if the skates are too long.

Do you feel the True sticks are same square-ness as the LX2 pro? I used the LX2 and it put holes in my palms after a few weeks where Bauer vapor and CCM jetspeed never did that.
@HockeyReviews
@HockeyReviews 7 күн бұрын
Each model has a different shaft shape. So you have to look at the specific model for that. Shaft shape isn't going to make a big difference on palms getting holes though. Unless you have actually sharp edges or carbon sticking out.

Thanks again for the solid review. I've seen these recommended over and over again as well. I never understood it. I used to wear one piece bauer knee guards and they were fine until i started playing with skilled shooters. I was practicing with some junior players one stick time and there was a goal line play and i was on the post. My knee was bent and had the smallest hole to see and he hit that shit with a laser and i had to be helped off the ice and he actually carried my bag for me to my car because i couldnt pick it up withou my knee dropping out lol. I got bauer supreme knees and never looked back.

Hockey equipment has to be the closest thing we have to legit super hero armor lol. The materials and engineering behind it all is on a different level. No other sport like this, sure lacrosse, football, etc have gloves, helmets, pads, ..but not like Hockey they dont. The fit, the materials, the builds designed around insane ergonomics... the overall fusion between ice, sharp metal blades, and the speed that this allows.. this is where Ice Hockey goes far beyond any other sport imo.

Hey! I have small hands and am therefore in that weird middle ground between size 12 and 13 but closer to 12.. considering that I’ll be looking into junior size gloves and that I like a snug fit, would you recommend the FT6 pro gloves, Sherwood Encrypt pro/rekker, or Warrior Alpha LX pro gloves? Which would you say fits the biggest of them all?
@HockeyReviews
@HockeyReviews 19 күн бұрын
If you want a more snug fitting glove you should be looking at FT6 Pro, Rekkers, or Coverts. Some stores have 12" pro stock CCM gloves which might be exactly what you are looking for like these: www.hockeystickman.ca/collections/intermediate-hockey-gloves/products/ccm-hgjs-pro-stock-glove-intermediate-boston-fleet-pwhl

Their roller bag is a poor design with the mesh layer on the bottom side. It bears the weight of everything in the bag and is prone to getting rubbed on the ground, especially with a careless kid using it. It ripped to shreds after a season of use. I patched the mesh with a window screen repair kit, but sort of disappointing that it was pretty damaged after less than a year of use given the price point. Other than that it has some nice features.

Would you say they both lift the heel up to the same height? I think my problem has to do with that. I have hyperlite 2 inline skates, with the standard footbed my big toe is a little bit uncomfotable on the front inside. Tried ccm orthomove from a friend for 1 session and they felt way better. Dont know if i should buy them or maybe the superfeet would be better.

Great video......looking to get a full custom set. Currently in the Optik 3 because I thought it was the only pad that'd help my older hips with 5 hole coverage, however talking with a coach they recommended this pad. I wasn't a fan of the catalyst but this is obviously different. It seems that with really proper fitting and a single break in the roll these might also work for a narrower fly goalie.......looking at your butterfly it doesn't look a ton wider than my own. Would you recommend these for a bit narrower goalie who likes a super stiff pad? I have been thinking the optik was the only option for me but seems my prior 5 hole lack of closure was purely a product of stock sizing. Thanks for the help!
@HockeyReviews
@HockeyReviews 26 күн бұрын
I can't speak to how much you'd be able to force a more aggressive Z shape in these with a single break. You might be able to break them in and get them closer to the MAX core shape, but from the factory they certainly won't be that shape. Based on my experience with the Optik MAX core, where for me, the core was TOO aggressive and even going down a size I would order a straighter pad and go back to the FLY core.

I had same thing happen with my other ghost. First couple odr sessions it was amazing, but just in time for the second ghost to arrive it lost all it's pop, I compared the 2 and after using the older one and changing to the new one the shots would just fly off. So so odd. I used the other one for about 4 odr sessions so about 2-3k shots. Now after using the newer one for the same time it still retains it's shot speed. Oh and same thing with my tracer, shot really well and then after 5-10k shots just became really hard to shoot with.
