It all sounds like something from Heroes old-school series. Not to demean your theory but having such a plot in a LiS setting would be kringee, like a teenage power (anime type) fantasy. Such plot may sound bad but be done well, nobody knows. Speaking of theories, i believe it is pointless at this era because only few indie writers stick to the rules of their worlds and to character archs. So trying to theorize is pointless though good if you want to share with someone. There are infinitely many possible plots, only the publisher chooses what it's gonna be and we know square don't want to stick to lis1 which had well written universe, powers, character archs, the publisher only wants something like we got in true colors - soulless story that provides a short time wow-effect that works best on teenagers and you forget it all fast. So trying to come up with a rational theory is assuming the writers know what they are doing, well, they showed it with Chloe they indeed don't know whay to do. This game is going to be one of few pieces of media i theorized about hard, but in the end i will only see i was wrong and writers had picked some mediocre plot lines. If you want i can give you my idea on an epic high stakes plot involving the saga of max preventing the end of the world.

So far your theory is right... but I highly doubt about the part of the future episodes where they are trying to go to Away and meet Daniel because that the place and Daniel in LIS 2 were made under Don't Nod, not under DeckNine. But nice theory nonetheless, I like it 👍

@@johnlee64 Yeah, it was a stretch - a stretch I lost all hope for as soon as I learned Maria was just the publisher calling Safi & not agent Flores. Tbh, I don't think I got a ton of stuff right beyond what had already been revealed. Like, a few extra bits, sure, but I definitely didn't imagine most of what happened in DE.

well technically, Sean DIDNT "lie" to Daniel, the game never gave you a chance to talk to him about the incident. so the game basically throws axes at YOU over something you had no control over. so shame on YOU DontNod!

If I had the choice as a player, I would not have lied to Daniel. But we don't control a lot of what Sean does, so I think it's worthwhile to distinguish between whether Sean (as presented in the game) lied and whether the player chose to lie. Sean did lie. For example, when he told Daniel "we'll see dad later" (unless you count seeing the image of dad on the TV as seeing dad, but I don't think that counts). The wiki includes most of the script of the game, so you can search it and see that Sean indeed said "we'll see dad later."

@@pyramidhead138 There are some bugs, yeah. I reported a bunch of bugs back while the game was being released, and they fixed some (perhaps by coincidence or perhaps in part due to my reports), but others remained unfixed, and with Don't Nod moving onto other projects I doubt anyone will be fixing anything else. But they did appreciate the reports. At least one other person who sent them unsolicited bug reports and I were put into the "Dontnod would like to thank" section of the credits for Episode 4 and 5. I think in some cases it's just unclear User Interface that causes people to let Daniel eat the berries. If you're looking at one thing you can interact with while a timed dialogue appears for another thing, you'll have to press some kind of button on your controller or key on your keyboard to swap between the one interaction and the conversation choice. If that's not the problem, then maybe it's something else. Idk.

@@Dreamprism i dunno, i listened to the conversation with him and Dan when they were walking by the woods; all he said was their dad cant be with them. WE had no control over that conversation. we couldve told him the truth right there. but i guess Dan trashing the motel room was inevitable.

@@pyramidhead138 Our having no control over the conversation is what I mean when I talk about distinguishing between Sean doing something and we as players choosing to do something. However, I double-checked the "we'll see dad later" quote I had mentioned to you, and it occurs at the end of the scene where Sean sits on the bench in the forest and Daniel comes up to him. So, actually, it's optional and doesn't always happen. So, let me check if there was another line fairly categorized as a lie. Let's see... well, as I already knew, most of the time Sean just shuts down Daniel's questions and talk about dad by saying something else. Not actually saying dad is alive or that they'll see him. The closest always-occuring event we get to an exception (based on my searching through all instances of the word "dad" on the Roads script page) is Sean beginning his relly to Daniel with "Yes" when Daniel asks "Doesn't he want to go camping too?" about their dad. If we take the perspective that a dead person can't want anything, then that's a lie, I suppose. But some poeple might alternatively think of Esteban in some kind of afterlife wanting to go camping with them And, in any case, it doesn't directly address Daniel's claim to Sean that "You told me we were gonna see dad." So, maybe the devs had intended for everyone to experience that scene sitting on the bench beside Daniel and so Daniel's line in the motel doesn't make sense when people don't. That is kind of poor design, actually. Technically, Sean could've still told Daniel something similar off-screen, so if we're to assume Daniel is being honest in relaying what Sean told him then I guess that's the logical conclusion here. It's kind of cheap, like when Sean and Daniel became more distant between episodes 2 and 3 regardless of player choice (which also frustrated me). So, it's either (1) a bug that not everyone experiences Sean say "we'll see dad later" but Daniel always reacts in the motel as if he did, (2) supposed to be assumed that Sean made a similar comment to Daniel off-screen regardless, or (3) indicative of Daniel mistakenly thinking Sean said something he didn't. I can't fault anyone taking any of those 3 perspectives.

Okay I just want to say I've started to replay lis2 again and I've tried this route and I can confirm for a fact you can get the cape stealing and knocking out hank letting Daniel kill the cougar taking part of the heist and either sean or Daniel killing lisbeth if I remember correctly I had high mortality but he stole then in episode 2 I scold him for playing hide and seek then I used the power on the door and he was encouraged to use his powers that's all I can really think of but yeah I did bad mortality decisions in episode 2 and he told the truth to Chris so you can still get the cape while doing bad mortality choices

You just have to have high morality by the time you leave the Christmas market, I believe. So, yes, you can actually end ep2 with low morality already & still have the cape. I actually did that myself on my original playthrough. There is all kinds of info on the LiS Wiki these days that goes into more detail than I ever knew myself. Like, apparently, your morality and brotherhood aren't compared to the number 0 for every outcome. There's a bunch of times in ep5, for example, where it's compared to a score of -5 instead.

I'm hosting a fan meetup in Seattle in a couple weeks (July 2nd to 4th) for a video game, and there's a fictional chocolate bar (Chock-o-Crisp) in the game that my German friend told me was like a real-life chocolate bar in his country. So, I ordered some of the bars from Germany for the meetup. It'll just be a small event in terms of attendance, but I'll be making the most of it. Three of the attendees are even planning to get tattoos while they're in town. (Not me.)

I know it’s been a long time since this was posted but I know how to exactly get HULA GIRL and CAPE in Blood Brothers for Episode 1-2 So basically question Daniel, don’t take the Choco crisp from the car, convince him to use the bathroom, wash and clean up in the gas station bathroom, don’t steal anything, discuss with Hank, (if you want power bear in the Ending, you play the game three times in. Row either yourself or Daniel) knock Hank out and steal when in the gas station(this will make Daniel steal from Brody) DONT say Hank was a total f***ing d***head put towels in the motel bathroom, say you will try to be honest. That’s for episode 1 which will prevent Daniel from being bad. For episode 2 I recommend killing the cougar and encouraging Daniel to use his power more often because later in episode 4 Daniel will end up choking lisbeth and you cannot intervene for that or else it will set a good example so Tell Daniel only as a last resort when he asks about using his power. Fill the bathroom container(Wait for a while after putting ravioli in the fireplace Daniel will go to the bathroom with mushroom and clean up) Wait for a while, Daniel will ask Sean if it’s okay to stay in the lair say we’re renters, call him out on the game. Don’t intervene with cougar, Clean up the entire house and wash your face, tell Daniel he has to learn and call him out on floating the dishes, find Daniel after talking to Stephen and Claire, Daniel will complain about doing chores and Sean will clean it up for him, tidy daniels mess in the bedroom(this could possibly encourage Daniel to use his powers more idk but I got the choices result as Daniel was encouraged to use his power more often, tell Daniel to fix certain things in the house like the frame at the top of the wall and the fish, and the bottle. This could possibly encourage him idk but I tried it) quiet Daniel from howling, remind him of the rules(ik poor baby), say it’s irresponsible and everyone can see from outside, tell Daniel to stop lying to Chris, drop the prank with nick. There you go, conclusion. Daniel will have an extra dialogue of saying “yeah yeah I did… he was disappointed” because after the … if he didn’t tell him he would immediately change the topic, so make sure you pay attention to that I hope this helps. Extra: break the door with daniels power instead of looking for the key, you can speak to him. I did this and Daniel said “I have the RIGHT to see my moms room” to Claire when they get caught. This indicates daniels low morality.

Seems reasonable. Surely not all of those steps are needed, but for anyone struggling to get the ending I'm sure their following your personal path will be helpful. I can also confirm the ability to have Daniel stop lying to Chris (implying high morality at the time you return from the Christmas Market( but then have his morality switch to low morality by the end of the episode. But, if I recall, the journal page that shows Daniel's morality doesn't update until you step out the back door. (?) At least that was my own experience. Would if be possible for you to check your file right after using Dan's power on the door to see if the journal shows low morality? It would be interesting if it still showed high morality even though you're getting low morality dialogue.

@@Dreamprism I could check to see, good idea. It’s just that how you can identify daniels low morality is when he talks to Claire saying “I have the RIGHT to enter my moms room”. This is a low morality dialogue that high morality Daniel cannot get in a safer playthrough, also what I forgot to add was reprimanding Daniel that stealing is bad, Sean will put the hula girl in his bag. This will set a good example for Daniel, still I will check to see. Because I recommend doing all good choices, except for knocking out and not intervening with the cougar(for later episode 4) I just expect high quality playthrough so you don’t have to be a dick to Daniel in the later episodes because it can cause major damage to brotherhood if you’re trying to bond with Daniel. Players struggling to bond with Daniel, they’re gonna have to do things above if they want all variants of BB like me, I figured out some glitch that could cause Daniel to like Sean a lot more. He may not be utmost respectful but it is fun in the process.

@@sal40151 I think you overlooked my question & assumed I was asking something else. I completely understood already that Daniel's "I have the RIGHT to enter MY mom's room" was a low morality dialogue. My question was whether or not the journal had updated to the image that indicates low morality (the angel with the halo over it in the journal). Because my recollection was that this journal page usually updates right when you make a choice that changes you from High to Low Morality (or Vice Versa) but gets a delayed change when you step out the back door at the end of ep2. Basically, I want to know if the journal's glitched page always perfectly corresponds to one's current morality or if there are rare times when you technically have the opposite morality of what the journal shows.

What I can say is that Daniel does end up with low morality at the start of episode 3 at the lake training with Finn with the decisions I made in the first two episodes. I’m just a little confused on the journal part because I usually don’t rely on those. I replayed on a collectible and used the key to open the door and Daniel said he wanted answers from his mom, different to when I asked Daniel to break the door. I know the journal could glitch and mean something totally different but for me I think the dialogue just itself could just help a lot more than the journal because it’s kinda confusing to read it

Honestly I like more Tell Me Why, the characters are complex and the story just feels more real than True Colors. I feel like True Colors has the story pretty similar to Tell Me Why (try to discover who is responsable for what happened- it's the same feeling). Because of this I feel that the story from True Colors is predictable

I feel like True Colors ripped off this and maybe parts of Twin Mirror. But my saltiness regarding the Square Enix/DeckNine/Dontnod dilemma aside, Tell Me Why was a great game that I feel a lot of the LIS camp didn’t play because I think it was XBox & PC exclusivity, and the storyline is more mature & adult. It could’ve been better in some ways I think, but the goblin book and puzzles were amazing, the power was interesting, and it was a beautiful story to explore, despite it being a very heavy one. I hesitate to call it “fun” because of that, but I found it to be an enriching experience.

Yeah, I can't really know for sure, but I've been suspicious as well. Like there was some initial idea for True Colors by Dontnod but they were moved away from the project by Square Enix and then Dontnod put some of the ideas they developed into TMW & Twin Mirror while Deck Nine modified the original TC ideas into their own version. But, again, I admit I have no real way to know if this is the case; it might not be.

@@silentj624 I remember being slightly annoyed when trying to find the location of a memory to view. There's no indication of which direction it's in. Just a glow and you have to look around every which way. Other than that, I don't remember anything too awful about the controls. I played on Steam (PC), for what it's worth.

It looks like my iMovie failed me slightly at the end and the last few lines of dialogue don't line up perfectly with the audio. Oh well. It's good enough. It's in everyone's best interest not to listen to the awful sound of my voice acting anyway. XD

At least for Sean. Pretty nice conversation. Bruh. This could be like a Low Morality choice. Think about that being 2 choices. If you choose to be nice it'll be the normal conversation but if you're not during this then it'll play this. Oof.

Yeah, Sean sounds really bitter in this. But I also love how he admits to Daniel that no he doesn't REALLY think that mom doesn't care about them about them anymore. Btw, I believe Sean talks about mom, grandma, and grandpa in this because the sample scripts tried to avoid people finding out it was about Life is Strange 2 by not mentioning characters' actual names. Finn would be Forest, Lisbeth would be Linda, and so on. Sometimes even script-to-script the names would change; I think Sean had 2 or 3 different aliases from all the casting calls combined. So, by just having the script say "mom" and "grandma" they avoided having to say their actual names and also avoided having to define an alias for them in the script. Either that, or maybe the devs just decided later on to have Sean call Karen, Claire, and Stephen by their first names. I have all the casting call scripts for episodes 2, 3, 4, and 5 along with the earlier-cast characters from episode 1 Unfortunately (to my knowledge) no one ever found the casting call scripts for the later-cast characters from episode 1 (Hank, Doris, Brody, Anton - yes, Anton was supposed to be in ep1 originally). We did find the character bios, but the sample script attachments weren't visible to the public on the site where we found that. We also never found the casting calls for Captain Spirit, which would've included Chris, Charles, and Claire. But there's a lot of cool bits in what we do have. The sample script in this video is probably the longest of all the sample scripts; most are maybe 40-70% of this length. There's also a sample script for Joan which contains a beautiful scene between Daniel and Joan that I'm sad was cut from the game. I wrote a fanfic on AO3 which was partly inspired by and includes those lines: archiveofourown.org/works/29839800 The Lisbeth sample script (or was it the Nicholas script?) was interesting too, as Daniel was referred to as Haven Point's messiah or something like that. So, between the writing of that script and the actual game it seems like he was demoted from something tantamount to a Christ figure down to just "The Angel Daniel."

(1) It might not be an intended reference anyway. (2) Tell Me Why was released in Summer 2020. I don't remember when it first began work. (3) True Colors began work in 2018 or maybe 2017 - you can check the beginning of the announcement video for True Colors. I remember the Deck Nine guy gives the precise year in that. (4) Although True Colors wasn't formally announced until early-ish 2021, I'm aware of leaks about there being a record store & the power involving different colored emotional auras since late December 2019 - though I personally abstained from reading them until around May 2020.

@@Dreamprism oh, sorry about that, my mistake. But then, Tell Me Why is released by Dontnod, but Life Is Strange True Colors is released by Deck Nine. What whould Dontnod know about Deck Nine's plan for Life Is Strange True Colors? Yea, it may as well be a real Easter Egg for True Colors, you never know.

@@AlexStroiescu I think it's conceivable that some people at Dontnod knew a little bit about True Colors, but I really don't know if it was a reference or not. I say it's conceivable someone at Dontnod knew about True Colors because of the Water Eater scene from Captain Spirit being so similar to the end of Chapter 1 of LiSTC. You can't tell me that monster doesn't qualify as a "Water Eater", and the purple fear aura matches perfectly too.
