Many people think this track is unnecessary filler. I think it's nice and well interpreted, Jeremy!

Nice little rock, which together with the other ones, compensates the bluesy part of the record. The part of Keith is more diverse than that of Taylor. The title is indecent like a lot of the lyrics, but somehow was not censored. Around the same time 1974-5, the group Nazareth was composing their main album Hair Of The Dog. The original title was Son Of A Bitch. The record company rejected it. The band replaced it with Heir Of The Dog (meaning the same). Another rejection. Then they proposed Hair Of The Dog, which sounds like the previous one, but is decent. Now it was accepted. Yet in the song lyrics you hear "Now you're messing with a son of a bitch, son of bitch..."'

There's no way that Keith Richards is soloing here. From the Rolling Stones bible The track sets a boogie-woogie, almost Dixieland, atmosphere with Stewart’s piano, quickly joined by Mick Taylor’s brilliant slide guitar, likely played on a Telecaster. Keith Richards supports with rhythm guitar, while Mick Taylor takes on the lead, adding distortion to his playing.
@kravakrava19 сағат бұрын
I totally agree, both parts are much too complex, Keith never played so many notes. This is Mick Taylor all the way, Keith is probably playing rhytm part under these 2 guitars....

Have a Happy New Year 🥳 The Rolling Stones released three versions of "Out of Time". The first, recorded by the band in Los Angeles in March 1966, appeared on the UK version of 1966's Aftermath and featured a marimba part played by Brian Jones. A shorter version of this recording appeared in the US on 1967's Flowers, and later on 1972's More Hot Rocks (Big Hits & Fazed Cookies) and 2012's GRRR! super deluxe edition. The song also appeared on the Stones' 1975 album Metamorphosis, which was created under the direction of former Stones manager Allen Klein and released on his ABKCO Records label. This version was, in fact, the backing track from Farlowe's version, but with a Jagger lead vocal, recorded in London in April 1966 as a demo for Farlowe. The demo version was also released as a single in 1975, reaching #45 in the UK, and was later included on 1989's Singles Collection: The London Years. So good. You play it exact. Stones stuff isn't hard to play, but it's hard to get perfect. I'm not going to pretend I can play Mick Taylor flawless nor Keith, with his licks thrown in. I play by ear though. I can read tab and music but I'd rather not.
