Quite possibly the most beautiful song in the world. I saw Taylor back in 2005 in Helsinki about two meters away in a club. He started with "Stop breaking down". He had very strong presence in his playing, every note sounded big, carefully chosen. You don't have to play million notes in a second if you play the right ones.

Taylor attributes the inspiration for the solo to a visit to Brazil, which followed the Stones' European tour in 1973. Taylor's solo part resonates beautifully throughout the entire song. He obviously would have played it on a Stratocaster and in one take. It's also worth noting that Taylor's solo in the song is reminiscent of the solos in Carlos Santana's "Song of the Wind" from his 1972 album Caravanserai. @@jeremybares Merci Jeremy d'avoir pris le temps de répondre. Je n'étais pas au courtant que l'inspiration de ce solo épique a son origine dans un voyage au Brésil après la tourné de 1973. Quant à l'inspirtion de Santana dans ce solo, c'est en effet très clair (in the original and also, I must add, in your perfect rendition!). Btw, you're right when you say that this beautiful solo resonates throughout the entire song. If you accept requests (in fact, I would have many for you), I'm sure it must be exhilarating and thrilling hearing you doing a cover of the Wild Horses jam with Keith and Gram Parsons in 1969 (the one in the Ultra rare tracks 2). I think you're probably the only person on earth that can do it. Thanks again!

He obviously would have played it on a Stratocaster and in one take. It's also worth noting that Taylor's solo in the song is reminiscent of the solos in Carlos Santana's "Song of the Wind" from his 1972 album Caravanserai. A chef d'ouvre, one of the best rock ballads of all times. Mick Taylor provides an extended guitar solo, his swan song, hinting that his time with The Stones is up. The inspiration for it came from his visit to Brazil and Carlos Santana. Nicky Hopkins provides the song's swirling piano runs, so typical for him. He died prematurely in 1994 (age of 50 years) from Kron's disease.

Thanks for this. I think Mck Taylor solo is his best of this work with the Stones

Wow, I totally disagree. I always found this solo to be Mick’s most amateurish effort, meandering around a scale with no direction and clearly out of his blues element.
