I love playing with their mouths so I don't discourage it. I just do a loud "OW!" And stop playing for a few minutes. They get it very fast and learn to be gentle whenever you yelp in pain, be it while playing or in general

I don't know why you made this video because this video doesn't help the blind people did you know some blind people can have a dog and some blind people can't have a dog so if you have enough money you can have a service dog but if you don't have that much money you can't have a service dog so if you don't make enough money you don't get service or help for the blind because of the money that's why I say this video was fake and stupid

If you redirect to a toy youre essentially rewarding the biting. If you want to direct to a toy you have to do it before they bite or they go "every time i bite a human they grab me a toy" and now youve got a new problem

So the solution to puppy biting isn’t what Kristi Noem did?
@LM-hb6yn7 сағат бұрын
I can't believe how many dog trainers get this wrong. Puppies bite because that's how they explore the world, through their mouths. When puppies play with each other and one puppy bites another puppy too hard, the other puppy yelps to let them know it hurt. That's how they learn to inhibit their bite so that they do not hurt one another. It's called bite inhibition, and you only have until 16 weeks of age to teach it to your puppy. The developmental window to learn this starts to close at 12 weeks and is fully closed by 16 weeks. This is sooooo important, especially if you have a powerful breed with a strong bite force! If you do not teach your puppy to inhibit his bite on human flesh by 16 weeks of age, they will NEVER learn it. But if they do learn it but 16 weeks, it will stay with them for life. So let's say your now 2 year old dog accidentally bites you but was never taught how hard is too hard.... now you have a serious injury. But if they've learned to inhibit their bite force, you might have a bruise but that's about it. This recently happened to me. My 18 month GSD was worked up trying to get to something but I was holding him back. He redirected his aggression towards me to make me let go so he could get at that other thing. But because I'd taught him bite inhibition, he didn't even break the skin. It hurt and was bruised but did not puncture my skin. His bite force is credibly powerful...I can't even pry his mouth open when his jaw is clenched. No doubt I'd have had a serious injury had I not taught him as a puppy to inhibit his bite. I wish dog trainers knew and taught this. It's OK to teach your puppy not to bite, but only AFTER you've taught them to inhibit their bite! I've only seen one dog trainer on KZbin who teaches about bite inhibition and how to teach it to your dog. If you have a puppy, especially if it's a powerful breed, do yourself a favor and search for that video and educate yourself.

@@monarchyman-bj3ck Facts thywre wrong anyway. The dog knows what your hand is after the first week just like it knows what it's ball is. It may not know it by name but it knows it's existence and it's not something new. The puppies biting because it thinks it's fun

Incredible to have an free coaching like that! I'm from Brazil, very very soon on my journey in dog training and I learn a LOT from videos like this. I mean, we're a capable to build a nice foundation with a lot of videos and notion to where and what content we've to consuming but some details we just "fix" with that type of help. Thank you, more energy. Noted.

I haven’t watched Nate’s channel in a while but I forgot how much I enjoy watching him interact with Ari. The constant touch and praise. So great to see a trainer love up their dog while they train. Truly a relationship every dog owner should aspire to have with their own dogs!

Hi Nate, I've been watching your videos for a while. I have a 1 yr old male Border Collie named Asher. I trained him before I found you. He can... Sit Down Stay Come Release (leave it) Break (free) Car Crate Bed Out Off and many others.. I can't get him to down while coming. When I say come, then down, He just comes, as taught, and then drops at my feet, lol Thoughts? Thanks, Bob & Asher 😊& 🐕 BTW, I'm taking your Become a Dog Trainer Course and am adopting a standard poodle to teach fresh with your luring method.

Hi Robert, Try executing the "down" command while performing the backwards follow exercise. You can see an example of the backwards follow in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqapdmp-l7R5fbM. As you walk backwards, ask him to "down" and assist with the physical cue if needed. You can also practice this in the heel position. The purpose is to get your dog accustomed to entering a commanded position while in motion. When you mark the behavior with a terminal marker, throw the reward over your dog. This technique focuses on the concept of reward placement. If your dog anticipates that the reward will land behind him, he'll be more likely to quickly assume the position without moving forward. Adjust the reward placement as necessary. Here’s a video on reward placement for reference: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2fYdqqGq8qBjrM. Once that is going well, try to incorporate the recall command. Additionally, start walking towards your dog after giving the down command. Lastly, ensure your dog understands commands from a distance before attempting this exercise. Here are a couple of videos on teaching your dog commands from a distance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYbIhX2qn8d_fbssi=V53CQZGt2d7xxFvy kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnyQh3Ztrahghassi=i4KVBxb_p0wVeW47 I hope this helps, and thanks for the continued support!
