The first type is the one usually available at the nearest gas station, so it's what I've always used. I've never had an issue with it and it always lasts for the remaining life of the tire. They're very inexpensive as well. I've never even bothered with cutting off the excess strip. Having that extra bit of thickness & stickiness gave me more peace of mind.

Great video, no music, no talking, clear subtitles and showing what happens inside the tyre was very educational. Well done.

How effective is the repair kit using a screw? Interesting

That might work for an old rim but i wouldn't use it on a newer rim

I wouldn't trust either of the mushroom style plugs without a cement or sealer. I guarantee they would create a slow leak over time.

After installing such a plug, tire repair shops won't touch them, meaning that they won't install a professional patch on the inside. Using these are only a temporary solution and are not to be seen as a permanent fix. I'm not saying to avoid them, but be prepared to buy a tire after using them. Don't take my word for granted, just ask at any tire repair shop...

hey i just got this slot machine and it powers on and seems like it works up until the point where i press the three buttons to stop the wheel but it keeps spinning. the buttons light are on but it just doesn't stop. after a minute it stops by itself. does anybody know how to fix it?

Should be able to turn it on and off from the actual pump, rather than unplug and plug it back in again

I'd say the plug strip is definitely safer It vulcanise due to the sticky stuff on it (rubber cement usually) and if it doesn't come with that stuff, you can get seperate tubs of rubber cement to go with it The roughening of the puncture and rough parts of the strips better adhere to as much as the rubber as possible + the rubber cement making a STRONGER seal than the mushroom plug which is pretty much only being held together with physics (the air pressure from inside pushing against the head and the diameter of the puncture pressing against the bigger diameter of the mushroom (making it a tight fit) but its smooth, with no adhesive/vulcanisation meaning there isnt as much contact as the strip and its rubber cement would do Don't get me wrong, from what I have seen both work and are good options, can be done DIY without a mechanic but practicality and longevity and piece of mind I think I would also go for the plug strip as my road side form of treating punctures during emergencys. My ideal option is the plug/repair patch but that involves removing the tyre/alloy entirely which I can of course do at the local tyre fitter/garage. For an emergency situation - defo plug strip

NOTE: This kit does not use glue or rubber cement, it only uses a lubricant that is part of the kit.

you're right, it was not a good test...put that tire on a car and heat it up, put a few miles on it...then, spray your soapy water on it...

I put two of the screw type plugs in a trailer tire yesterday (two different punctures). One of them would never completely seal.

Not even need to glue up that wick , at home just heat that wick up a bit with a electric paintstripper so the glue on the wick get soft . 🙄🙄🙄🙄👍👍👍👍

CLOSEST THING to real patch you would get at the garage is that orange mushroom-- gun type-- airpressure would hold that solid-- feel better if it had glue to weld it in. other wise the easiest is teh sticky strip- and they never failed although its actually meant to be a temporary fix- get into an accident it could be used against you if you got a crafty prosecuting attorney1
