My favorite of this batch is Daniil Simkin. I saw him live in NY two years ago doing Don Quixote and he was a lot more precise than Mr. Kim, who I thought looked a little sloppy here (although I would love to see him live too).

After watching this and seeing so many very fine dancers practicing their art, it's hard to escape the conclusion that Baryshnikov is the best especially after the "Don Quixote" Basilio . . . simply breathtaking.

❤As a Korean, I instinctively feel a sense of pride in sharing the same nationality as a dancer like Kim Ki-min. He was fortunate to meet teachers from Russia when he was young and received perfect instruction from them. I remember him saying in an interview that when he learned Russian and began to understand his Russian teacher's teachings, he was amazed at how beautiful the words were. He received the leading Russian ballet education and grew to perform ballet perfectly. While legendary dancers like Baryshnikov are admired in the Mariinsky Ballet, I am happy to live in the same era and experience Kim Ki-min's performances firsthand.

ONLY THE THREE RUSSIANS AND THE SECOND CUBAN DO WHAT BALLET IS SUPPOSED TO DO WHICH IS ENHANCE THE EMOTIONAL CONTENT OF THE WORK BEING PERFORMED. THE REST ARE TECHNICALLY VERY GOOD BUT MIGHT AS WELL BE WORKING OUT IN A GYM FOR ALL THE EMOTIVE IMPACT THAT THEY BRING OUT.
