‼️ Before you start trying to conceive… It is recommended that you focus on preparing your body for AT LEAST 3 months (often more, especially if you’re coming off the pill). The changes we make to our health are not instantaneous, and this allows time for the shifts you make to impact your egg quality, hormone balance, and so much more. There’s a whole lot I’d prioritize if I were trying to get pregnant in 2025, but here are the 3 things I’d recommend starting with: 1️⃣ Prioritizing Blood Sugar Regulation In many ways, good blood sugar regulation is the foundation for healthy hormones. When our blood sugar is dysregulated, we enter a state of stress that tells our bodies we aren’t safe. This is detrimental to fertility, potentially making it difficult to get pregnant, increasing the likelihood of early term miscarriage, and worsening pregnancy symptoms such as “morning” sickness. Poorly regulated blood sugar also depletes our minerals… 2️⃣ Assessing and Replenish Mineral Levels Minerals are the spark plugs for every chemical reaction in the body and integral to comprehensive metabolic health. During pregnancy, mom gives a massive percentage of her minerals over to baby. If mom is already in a depleted state (as most women are), she not only opens herself up to a whole host of symptoms and complications, but may be unable to transfer what is optimal over to baby… this can impact her child’s health, even well into adulthood. I highly recommend that all women who are planning to conceive evaluate their mineral and metabolic status with HTMA. Shoot us a DM to schedule yours. 3️⃣ Talking to Your Partner About Sperm Health Ladies, your health is only half of the equation. Not only does sperm health impact conception, it also impacts your child’s genetic makeup and lifelong health. Mineral status plays largely into sperm quality, and thus, it is highly advantageous for men to also assess their mineral status through HTMA a few months prior to conception.

Hear me on this: Your body is not against you. It is crying out for help. Debilitating periods, endometriosis, PCOS, cysts, and other menstrual disorders are a symptom of something deeper going on. They are metabolic issues. What if instead of managing symptoms, you were equipped to address and calm the underlying causes of your menstrual disorder? 🩸 If this sounds appealing, HTMA might be for you… HTMA is a completely non-invasive, soft tissue mineral biopsy that provides a reading of mineral deposition in the cells and interstitial spaces of the hair over a 2-3 month period. Minerals are the spark plugs for every chemical reaction in the body, and can therefore provide profound insights into metabolic rate + type, stage of stress, adrenal and thyroid health, hormone patterns, heavy metals, and what is going on at the cellular level of your body. This information is tremendously beneficial in addressing the root cause of menstrual disorders. While spots are full through the end of 2024, our January 2025 waitlist is now open! Shoot me an email at [email protected] to claim your spot on the waitlist or with any questions 🤍 #htma #hormonebalance #hormonehealth #innatehealing #metabolichealth #prometabolic #holisticnutrition #nutritionaltherapy

3 ways to support a healthy immune system this fall and winter 🍁⛄️ 1️⃣ Get outside each and every day. According to the old German (or Norwegian, depending on who you ask) saying, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, just unsuitable clothing.” While it’s so tempting to stay cozy indoors when it’s chilly outside, this is one of the worst things you can do for your immune system. Bundle up and head out for a walk or a visit to your local park at least once per day. Psst… there’s nothing quite as cozy as walking to your local coffee shop in the snow and then walking home with a warm drink in hand. The idea that the cold makes you sick is down right false. In fact, some studies have proven the opposite - that some cold exposure may actually strengthen your immune system. So get out and breathe in that deliciously crisp air! 2️⃣ Eat vitamin D rich foods. If you’ve been around here for a minute you likely know that I’m not a huge proponent of vitamin d supplementation. Yes, there’s a time and a place, but vitamin d supplementation for MOST people can actually worsen underlying issues. The solution is more nuanced. That said, I am a massive fan of including foods that are naturally rich in vitamin D during the cloudier months. Some of the best food sources of vitamin D are grass-fed raw dairy, pastured egg yolks, oily fish, and cod liver oil. 3️⃣ Get Moving. Exercise has been shown to boost immune function in so many ways: it increases white blood cells, flushes out bacteria, improves sleep, reduces stress, and elevates body temperature (of course, this all assumes you aren’t over-exercising). Just as it’s easy to stay indoors at this time of year, it’s easy to become quite sedentary. Instead of staying still, make exercise a part of your day that you can look forward to. Been wanting to try that new Pilates class? This is the perfect opportunity (could even sneak a class pass onto your Christmas list). Looking for that extra push to begin your weight lifting routine? Well here it is. Whatever mode of movement you choose, creating an exercise routein is a proven way to enhance both your immune system and your mood in the colder, darker months.

That is important as well.

Hi Sally, I love the first recipe and was excited to try, I have recently started eating pro-metabolic thanks to finding some really good source of information about all this in our country (tbh quite revolutionary bc all I know now is we've been fed lies about what is healthy, often quite the opposite than one believes cuz there are many industries promoting something bc of money.) My question is, I don't get what is flour doing in your recipe (supposing it's the classical wheat one if it's all purpose in the US? We have different types of flour depending ot the type of flour and type of grinding so there is nothing like "all purpose" here, it's always specifically said e.g. smooth/semi-rough/rough wheat flour etc.) Am I missing something or is this what you've used somewhat gluten free flour? Gluten especially concentrated in any kind of bread/flours/it's literally everwhere/ is harmful to the gut (and a huge antinutrient in general, causing so many problems long term) and No.1 to get rid off in our diet if going pro-metabolic way. I'm genuinely wondering where did you learn about gluten being okay/pro-metabolic if it's used in the recipe because really this is the basics. I don't mean to be rude or anything. Or maybe your recipe is only inspired by that way and not 100% pro-metabolic? Thank you for your kind answer in advance:)
@SallyHandАй бұрын
Hi Nicole, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! There is a big difference between eating wheat flour that is fermented versus unfermented. I recommend making this recipe sourdough, as I believe I share in the video and as the fully recipe recommends. Gluten is actually not universally considered bad in the "pro-metabolic" community - I think we have to consider that wheat flour is actually an ancestral food... but so much depends on how it is prepared. This is a sourdough recipe, meaning it is fermented. When wheat is fermented, it breaks down the anti nutrients and makes it more digestable/supportive for the gut. This opinion is consistent with my training as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner from the Nutritional Therapy Association.

Sensitive to alcohol - especially wine. Easily intoxicated. Maybe triggers migraines. 2. Chronic fatigue or drowsiness 3. You have seasonal allergies 4. Flushing/red/blotchy skin 5. Dizziness 10. Anxiety Histamine issues show up differently in everyone, meaning you could show all of these symptoms and none at all - maybe even some really funky ones like difficulty swallowing or frequent urination.
