What a lovely video, Georgina. Not only I adore your aussie accent, but you're a great interior architect! Loved it! Love your solutions as well.

I grew up in a house with a pass-thru window from the kitchen to the pool deck. Your comment about blocking the primary access to the outside makes absolutely no sense. The pass-thru window was over the sink and adjacent counter, and the primary access was huge sliding glass door 4' over

I made this mistake too , regretted it, lots of mould and stagnant water from water dripping hands

Only just discovered your channel, good to see you can admit mistakes. That scores you a 10. Also any timber on the southern side away from the sun is prone to fungal attack. Timber works best under cover and kept dry. I'm just an ageing timber pest inspector.

Error after error. Incompetence is immediately evident. Firstly, a wardrobe by the bed has been a terrible idea for 100 years, and secondly, wardrobes are a sign of poverty and lack of taste. The sleeping area is where the bed is, a small nightstand and an armchair, and the wardrobe is where things are, not you. It is necessary to have a room for clothes if you are on a diet in the house or to separate clothes from the place where you sleep. This is convenient, practical, and hygienic.

Forget having to endlessly clean finger marks off stainless steel in the kitchen. Why don’t I give myself even more work cleaning off marks on the stainless steel in my bathroom too.

If you NEVER ACTUALLY COOK. What an idiot lol. Classic FORM over FUNCTION. Pendant lighting helps with cooking, overhead cabinets help with storage.

What’s the point of sliding the door behind. The door will only be left open for a minuscule time

900 mm? Just say 90 cm. You don't need millimetres to measure that high a number, I mean I doubt anyone is going to complain that your countertops are 3 mm off lol

Any metal frame window or door should have a plastic thermal break so that you don't have solid metal radiating heat inwards/outwards. Of the two types of thermal breaks available, polyamide strips are the newer development and work better than the older pour & debridge thermal breaks. And polyamide thermal breaks work even better when there is extruded foam filling the cavity between the two strips. Most insulation materials achieve their thermal insulation by being made of low-conductivity materials and having air pockets. While the air cavity inside window frames is a much better insulator than bare metal, the air still transmit heat via convection (whereas metals transmit heat by conduction). Foam and other insulation material trap this air within while basically eliminating convection.

Number 1 never use marble as a kitchen bench, you can’t even place a lemon on them they are so susceptible to acid wear. You should find another career

Not a fan of the trend to change out baths for showers. In near future I expect those who have only 1 bathroom will soon enough change back. Do I love having to stand in a tub to shower? No. But I’d dislike having no tub even more.

Oh, this is from the "perfect kitchen" layout video. It really is beautiful. I'd like to hear how the owner likes using the sink & hob with a view of the wall. Maybe it's not an issue.

Can someone please tell me, what is the purpose behind the kitchen island? One side is storage and the other side is a wall, you don't have space unde so people could approach and seat for example. You can place ingredients there and display the food... But in such a big space it just seems like an after thought... But of course, this qas never about efficiency.

You know, I cook on an old 2-hot plate plug-in thing _on my island,_ because I hate facing a wall, where the induction is.

Sink with a view of a wall, is preferable to a sink on the island. Huh. No overhead cabinets ... I'd hate that. It does look lovely, but isn't "form over function" a saying for a reason

Oh, extend the semi-circular handles to the circular shapes in reno's and new builds. I LOVE arches and some curves, but people are doing it on every second surface, so it will DATE badly. "THEY LOOK VERY OF THE MOMENT." Exactly. Overdoing a trend ruins the trend.
