@@mikkaylaleighann9850 rather than pinching, think of drawing your scapular down into a V shape but still keeping the breadth in the back. If you pinch them inwards and narrow the back then the scapular wing outwards which we don’t want.

I've always wanted to do ballet when I was a child, but my parents could not afford it. Now I'm close to 50 and happened to find your channel. Tried a couple ballet warmups which I enjoyed doing as it seems gentle enough, but for some reason its causing my pain in the knees... feels like my tendons/ligaments in my knees are about to snap when I do exercises when fodling legs while standing, such as the plie, squats, etc.... are there any alternatives or is it not a good idea for me to do these workouts? I started strength training 11 months ago, but the legs workouts I cannot do due to knee pain, I do stretches and gentle pilates with ankle weights, but since I found your channel was hoping to make my leg days into ballet fitness leg days for something new... Any advice/tips? Thanks

I discovered your channel a couple of hours ago and am both absolutely chuffed, and feel rather foolish for not finding you sooner. For my whole life I regretted stopping dancing (ballet) and wondered if there was a way to start dancing again. As exercise for mind, body and especially soul. Decades ago, I looked into the possibility of adult classes but there was nothing within hundreds of miles/kilometres, so I more or less forgot about it. With ME/CFS it's pretty challenging to simply get to the bathroom to attend to the call of nature let alone an exercise routine. Another setback. Recently, I thought I'd do my utmost to find a way. I've just received all my (very amateurish-dupe) kit from an online bargain store, the shoes arrived yesterday. So, today, I set about trawling the net and YT to see if I could find classes. I found a bunch, and then there is Sleek Technique. Absolutely awesome. I will have to start super super super gently, but I think because I've loved ballet my entire life, there's a far greater chance of sticking with it. I was so disappointed to see no activity on this channel, then boom, a new video! Hmmm, must be meant-to-be, especially for me. Thank you so much for your work. Black tights or leggings make it more difficult for us to see the relative positions of your legs. Sometimes we can't see which one is in front. Black doesn't show the subtle shadows and hues that we use to determine position in 2D videos. It's like watching a shadow puppet. Amateur mistake. Light colors or bare legs make it much easier to follow the exercises.
