I never played Atilla so I dont get it: why in this game all use chess order of their army up to 4 lines instead of usual 1 thick line of infantry? why so dispersed?

and why unit formations are so thin for sake of width?
@Very_Bad_Bishop2 ай бұрын
@@s.novozhilov1856 it has three main reasons. first of , the fact that the thin line provides maximum protection from missile damage by the enemy. and second reason is tactical , since you have a higher chance of forcing enemy units getting engaged in your melee. finally, the more space coverage is the strategical reason for why "thin" formations are preferred by top players.

I think that cav rush 10:15 was a turning point. If this cav rush was a failure (fire arrows on cataphracts was bad idea), Jutes would have won. Do you have Rome 2?
@Very_Bad_Bishop3 ай бұрын
Yes. we could finish off the cavalry battle here in that moment, while the enemy was concentrating on the melee on the other flank. the Nordic bow units in this battle , helped us , by being completely inactive for the majority of the battle, and then forcing their friends to route quickly.

@@Very_Bad_Bishop yes is about turning point or Rome 2?

@@s.novozhilov1856 The turning point XD I only play Attila MP.

damn I though you gonna loose in a first minute, your lines were in a complete disarray) but seems like enemy was too locked in for micromanaging cav. Although nomads are very annoying and deadly to fight against. I always think you have to pretend to be nomad to defeat nomad

The early harassment is the enemy's obvious plan. how successful will it be , is another question. it is not the only possible tactic in hands of the Huns though. as for defeating the Huns, you can mainly count on their weak melee cavalry and lack of slingers to pose serious ranged damage , their best try is to bring the mounted bow units , but then this simply reduces their budget for investing on other parts.
