Love the idea of the ribbon on the stocking. I have two similar stockings with bright red stripes. Red is not a color I lean into, so this is a wonderful idea. My tip is look for neighborhood wide yard sales in well off suburbs. We live in a a wealthy suburb of Richmond, and our neighborhood and the one next to it have annual spring yard sales. I have bought some insane antique pieces for just a few dollars. The neighborhoods need to be well established, old money type homes. New homes are full of Target furniture and kids toys. I have bought everything from antique furniture to garden pieces to chandeliers and oil paintings.

Also, I love the Currier and Ives picture . I have quite a few pieces .

I was manager for Goodwill when they started to pull merchandise to sell on line. They count on their employees to know quality and they do not. Had one employee price item at 2.99 and I pulled item and the value was $362.oo... I have found very beautiful lenox china and many other item..keep looking, there are treasures they have no idea what it is❤❤

This is a happy happening. I picked up a similar basket from Putnam, Vermont just a few weeks ago here on Vancouver Island in B.C. I filled it with white pointsettas and frosted greenery and frosted berries. Enjoy the new year and God bless you

I’ve always loved the modern farm house. If you to any of the old school people that actually lived on a farm, white wouldn’t be their choice. With all the mud and gunk on a farm being brought in on boots, coats, and gloves white was the worse choice.

Goodwill, in most locations, runs their own Ebay accounts. I've bought from several around the US. Once you find them they are worth following on Ebay. Yes, they also have their own website for online sales but Ebay gets items and books too.

Nice haul for a day of thrifting! And those baskets aren't too pricey compared to what they likely retailed for, especially since they are so versatile. Love the pattern on the pillow - such a good find. The DIY updates were perfect - I immediately also thought of painting the dog to match your other ones. And I love how the picture frame turned out. Many thrift shops are now doing online shops for high value items. Part of me gets it because they are there to make money for charities/causes but the other part of me is like that's why many shop there is to find those hidden gems, either for themselves or their business.

I've enjoyed finding some great buys in the past but I learned to consider days when I came out with nothing to also be successful as I wasn't bringing home anything that I didn't really need or want.

I loved all the baskets, I think those were wise choices. They have so many uses; towels, yarns, children's small toys, etc. I would use a smaller one for my junk journals. I have seen a lot of ladies this year using them as gift holders. Such as wine basket, cheese basket, baskets with lotions. A great haul... ♥️

Yes it’s true that Goodwill sends there “ good/ antique/ vintage” things to online. There was painting I bid on, well a lot of people bid on, they figured out something was up about that original painting, researched it was a listed artist and removed it from the Goodwill auction site and then auctioned it off on an art site.

Yes, Sarah. Goodwill has been taking the vintage and older pieces and putting them online rather than selling them in their stores. Stinky if you ask me. I tend to shop at other thrift stores that don't hide their good stuff. Also, the prices at thrift stores since 2020 have really risen, at least here in the Denver metro area. Sometimes things are priced higher than they were in the retail stores. That happened to me last week when I picked up a brand new pack of gift card boxes...prices at 3.99 but the Marshalls price on the back was 2.99 luckily Christmas was 75% off so I got a deal. I like picking up artwork in beautiful frames, especially frames that have great mats or non-glare glass. Yes, shopping often helps you find the good things and I often walk out without buying anything!!
