I remember during this game motson was screaming "it won’t count Ronaldo it won’t count" when Ronaldo was running through on goal from an offside position like Ronaldo could hear him 😂😂😂

Someone obviously spoke in Shearer's ear when he said Rooney would stick one on Ronaldo back at Man.Utd. He stopped so quickly.

Verbruggen nearly saved kanes penalty. More than one of the penalties against Switzerland were nearly saved by Sommer. Kane put one on the ISS in the world cup semi final Don't be under any illusions 😅

Man our squad now as a whole is one million times better. This squad had some fantastic individual players but there was no balance to the team. Gerrard and lampard didn't work together. Becks and Owen was past it by then. Rooney wasn't fit. Yes our defence were very good but beyond that there was no balance, pace or creativity. I mean Aaron Lennon and Stuart downing were in the squad! 2006 was far far from "the golden generation". Sven was clueless too. Brazil, France and Italy were way way better than us in 06.

I've been looking for this bbc opening! When gary points to petr cech, he says england aren't there but the English premier league stars will be, then Jimi Hendrix fire plays along with that montage, awww so annoying it's dubbed out

Joe Cole said I couldn't see anything we were trying to do. Other teams even the poor teams you can see what they are trying to do. He said for us I couldn't see what we were trying to do.

Gary Lineker with Ian Wright, Alan Shearer and Alan Hansen was The Perfect Pundit Panel and it ain't been the same since with Wrighty now trying to make the best of being shoved off to ITV to try and get a word in while Gary Neville drones on.

"I think that the manager contributed to the downfall of England. At no stage did they ever get that balance and shape and structure right... it never looked like working and he never tried to change it. And certainly with the players at his disposal, you'd have to look and everybody will question the manager and quite rightly so." Sounds familiar.
