This was the first tournament after Abramovich arrived at Chelsea and teams and players got too “competitive”, didn’t mix with players from different clubs and kept everything close to their chests! Then Mourinho arrived at Chelsea just after this and BOOM. Fergie, Wenger, Mourinho. Never any unity or co-operation in the team. DNQ for 2008! This went on until the diasatrous Euro 2016!!!

A fact: That day was the day of soccer, this because that same day at night at 21:00 in Argentina. The Argentine classic of Libertadores River vs Boca Juniors faced each other for the semifinals. The match started at 9pm at the River Plate stadium, it was only a local fan, River 2-1 won, the referee Hector Baldassi expelled Carlos Tevez (former city striker, Manchester United, West Ham United, Juventus) for removing himself the shirt, well in short Boca advanced to the final and eliminated River by penalties while visiting and the stadium had pure River fans.
