Just had a 2016 Tiguan delivered, minor damage salvage and removed the reservoir tank to make it easier to remove the thing. Seems like a metallic mesh bag and appears to be in one piece. Coolant needs flushing and replacing as is brown. 2016 Tiguan with 67,000 miles EA288 engine.

Cheers mate, the hand book was useless,, if you hadn't shown me which fuse it was, I'd have been stumped,, 👍,, Halfords don't stock the 7.5 so I'll wait a couple of days for amazon to deliver,, Thanks again,,

Your welcome buddy :) now all you need to do moving forward is use the correct concentration of screen wash so it doesn’t freeze in the bottle causing this fuse to blow

@TheVWMechanic_official yep, I feel like an idiot, I've just got the screen wash, because I thought it was empty, not realising it was the blown fuse,, lol.. We've recently moved house, and don't have a garage,!!! First time in 50 years I'm having to leave the car out on the drive,, Thanks again, and just subbed for helping me out,, 👍👍

Hi mate, Iv got a 19 plate caddy startline, I'm getting water in the passenger footwell, through a wire loom coming through the firewall into the heater matrix, and also the heater blower motor casing is filling up and that's also leaking? Do you have any ideas, iv checked all drain points are unblocked, iv even removed that plastic grill shown in the video, sealed round it and re fit? Could a poorly fitted replacement windscreen be a plausible route to go down? It's leaking through the blower motor casing and through the firewall? Im absolutely stumped, any tips or help would be massively appreciated

I had exactly the same issue on my 2015 Octavia VRS with the DSG gearbox. At the same time, the rear windscreen wiper kept coming on by itself. About three years ago I had the car booked in for a full service at the Skoda dealer in Worthing, and asked them if they could have a look at this. The service chap rang me up and said it was this switch that was malfunctioning, and would cost £35 to replace! Switch replaced, and both problems have gone (and stayed!) away. can’t remember the last time I was so happy with a main dealer!!

This is great news that you got it sorted at a better price than a full selector and this is just it all dealerships are tarred with the same brush but actually some dealerships are amazing and they don’t get the recognition they deserve

As well charged 225.00 for diagnostic..plus they want another 1400.+ to change tge defective Selector lever park lock switch...

Hi, I'm about to replace mine, when you say tighten the bolts in sequence, is that start at any point and work your way round, crazy thing is, asked a vw garage today what torque was, they had no idea ha ha

Hey yeh there’s a torque setting which unfortunately I don’t give out torque settings and there is also a sequence but you would have to follow a reliable data source such as elsawin

I have the same problem with MG HS and authorised delaler says it is 1500 GBP to fix it, he says radar sensor is faulty. if i buy a used one from eBay,any way to fix it?

Hey sir i Did a cam belt and piston rings on a cjz 1.2 tsi now i have a pinging sound from 1500 to 2200 rpm when i snap the throttle no timing related codes but after a drive i get random misfires and knock limit above threshold could this be timing related.I did use the tool that locks the camshafts at the rear

Very difficult to say without being able to look myself mate but from what you’ve said I would be carrying out a compression test and a check of the timing

I've downloaded the package but I don't have the maps folder. In the root there's MIB1 and MIB2 and inside there are several other maps. Don't know what to do :( I have the Discover Pro and I've managed to update the maps in 2021 though (with my own SD card, as the update is installed onto the car's storage).

Lift the leather gear surround up and look to the right of the lever if there is a yellow ring pull push it down and at the same time put the lever into neutral this will allow the vehicle to be pushed

@ I’m not very happy given the car has barely any miles and has been meticulously serviced since new. My first Golf that has 106k miles on it didn’t give me a bit of bother. However, if this is the issue then I’m more than happy as it seems simple to fix. I’m going to go out and have a look shortly at the pipes.

hey rob can i ask you a question here it goes when i smoke tested my vw golf mk6 cayc engine i could see smoke coming out of dip stick when i pulled the dip stick out oil was squirting out of it what do you think cant find anything on it on youtube

@ no mate I’ve had it scanned by a vw specialist up north, not one fault code, but the thermostat was sticky so we changed that. Pig of a job. Be good content ;) I don’t think he checked any values tho, how do I go about getting that done?

Hey VW mechanic, assuming this test could be performed whilst 😂 the glow plug is in the vehicle? Would you warm engine up when you remove these? Also, thanks for video on front Touareg struts, did all 4 with Bilstein B6. Rears were a bit easier in my opinion. I will say that I have the version that bolt from the top of rear compartment, not from underneath.

Yeh you can resistance test them fitted similar process to what you see here and yep I always have the engine at operating temperature and off of course before attempting to remove and massive thanks for the support and glad your all sorted with your struts 🫶
