This recipe is a fail. All that 7up made it soupy. I guess there’s a reason you don’t show dipping it out of the DO

@brentcharlton3805 I'm sorry that you think that this is a fail. I've made this at least 100 times, and it turns out good every time. The cake mix always soaks up all the liquid. If you try it again, maybe try a little more heat for just a little more time. I promise this is one of my go-to recipes.

Do all my cooking with cast iron, but never had a dutch oven till now. You made this look super simple, so I think this is going to be my first cook. Thank you.

In case anyone is interested, I've tried almost every blackened seasoning sold on Amazon. Over a dozen. The best by far that I've found is Spiceology - Black Magic - Cajun Blackening Spice Blend - Spicy Creole Dry Rub and Seasoning.

you aren't supposed to tilt the baster when you pull it out. It cause air to pass through releasing the liquid. Hold it straight up and down and less liquid will come out while transferring it to a bowl.

Dan just started to follow you as I'm sniffing around this pit boss table top grill. Your first video I caught was the unboxing and burn in. You were having a scary amount of smoke coming out of your hopper on that video. Did you find any solid answers to your smoke issue?? Thank you

I have a couple of them I've cooked bunches of stuff but like you said you have to make sure the lids center it doesn't fit tight like my 50 year old lodges they have since gone up on price but another store brand I recommend is out door gourmet by academy sports I have a 14 inch one extremely heavy nice big coal ring on top just a flat bottom you have to use with a trevit or a tripod
