Actually im thinking bout putting these in the door as is @2 ohm on factory system. Id like to see see some revular poor man set ups like that. My 13 acura is a 2 ohm factoey system. My daughters mustang is 4 ohm 9 speaker set up but the door woofers arw 2ohm, weird huh. So if we drop some subs like these in there how would it be. Not everybody tryna run a comp system just something they can afford diy

Your story about the angled port doesn't make sense. The woofer causes a pressure wave through the whole port. Because the port is more narrow at the top than at the bottom you'll get deviations in air speed, resulting in distortion. It would be better to also angle the port that is parallel to the back of the box. Still a very nice build though.
@ATCA5 күн бұрын
@@MischaGielen yea. Thats why this is one of the most amazing sounding setups over ever made… because it’s wrong
@MischaGielen5 күн бұрын
@@ATCA I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying that your reasoning the shape of the port doesn't matter doesn't make sense. BUT, if it works for the ears and the guts: Goal achived. Great explanation of the what and why. I have a similar situation in my living room where I'm struggling with de dimensions of the subwoofer I can put. I have roughly 180L (6.35cu.ft) outside dimensions available, but only 8 inches high, 12 inches deep and a bit short of 6ft long. I might try the design you started with in this video with multiple 7.5inch woofers or use a downfiring system with 2 12" woofers in a similar ported enclosure. Will 95% of the time be used for home theatre, not for music.
@ATCA5 күн бұрын
@ here’s what I know about home theater. It’s not the woofer size that matters. Come 12 inch woofers in smaller enclosures have bad port noise. 8” home woofers can be plenty loud. Also, they are generally thought to be tuned low, however every home woofer I’ve ever had and tested. All had enclosure tuning of 32hz. Every single one.
@ATCA5 күн бұрын
@ remember that the. Shape dictates efficiency, but triangle ports have been a thing for decades. For this car application, the weight. Of the air in the port is what’s important. That port volume is still the same, thus the math for a slot port still works. It transitions to a rectangle and then meets the open air with a flair, bring the kerf, this makes the sound from the port seem no different than any other slot port and the kerf eliminates much of the port noise.
@MischaGielen5 күн бұрын
@@ATCA Cool! I'd like to go as low as possible. I have a lot of volume available and the main speakers deliver enough power until roughly 50Hz, so I can restrict the bandwidth of the output to the sub. I'll just go search for woofers that are available in Europe and are fit for this application.

this i know its an old vido, but i have a 2016 ford fusion titanium ( not hybrid) but it has the 12 speaker sony system with the sony amp in the back. How were you able to connect that amp to your ct sounds amp? i read online that the sony amp only amplifies the 2 rear deck subs. but what about all the other 10 speakers? how would one go about amplifying all the speakers by using the sony amp and the ct sounds amp?
@ATCA7 күн бұрын
@@jammc700 the amp in the trunk amplifies all channels. Not just the subs. I back fed all 4 doors and removed the subs in favor of aero ports. Check out my 2019 ford fusion video on this channel and it has an update. Same system, newer car. Also, I’m now running 4000 watts total power on stock alt setup with just a super cap.

I know why your shaking... lol they hit so low you were scared the 'ol lady was gonna get ya. jk. My first one will be here in a few days was looking up about it after i ordered it. I did a bit of research on the parameters and it checked all the marks of what I needed for my new bluetooth tower im building befor ordering. Second iteration of the tower, first had a pyle dual 2ohm vc 8", wushi audio 2.1 2x220 1x350. I kept the sub freq midway on the dial and sub vol the same. Took a month to kill the pyle 8. The midrandge 5" pyle and mid base 5" held up well ended up giving it to a friend with a comp surr system 5.1 sub with amp removed and sealed where it was with terminals in the middle of the plate. They still have it 2 years later but i want a new tower ( Damn you Stephen King ;)- ) tropo 6.5 is the sub for it. Thinking 6th order. Going with the wushi audio TB-21 which is 2.1 2x50 1x100. With the left right line arays and front and rear tweets I'm hoping it'll sound better even with lower watts still working on picking the mid and tweet but got mid bass today and the sub will be here sunday. any suggestions on the mid drivers and tweety birds? Thinking compression with a wide wave guide alined with the left and right arrays. keep in mind im running 50w L,R and 30 is gone already for the midbass on each side.
