To stop the puffy powder I cut the top off my bottle and pour or scope out the quantity. I then invest the top and tape it done like a lid to make it easier to use and keep it dry. Thanks for your recipe.😊❤

When I make mine, I cut them down centre to remove the cover and in half 2 pieces one for a spray bottle and one for a drip bottle. I have some long narrow stainless steel tweezers that I pull the fabric out with. I use silicone finger gloves and wipe my fingers and the tweezers between colours. It’s pretty clean and I don’t spill or knock the bottles over as I’ve made a holder so the bottles are more stable. This is a really fun process, and the colours are amazing. 😂

I want to say thank you so much for this video. You are totally awesome. I have been looking and searching for recipes on 3-D art and I am so glad that I ran into your video and very grateful for the way you explained everything especially when we have questions because to us, they’re important to get answers, and that you do! Please keep this going. You’re doing an awesome job giving us information which is so needed for us newbies that are starting to do 3-D art and I love it. Thank you so much!

Great video and I appreciate the time you took to show how to make this thick modeling gesso. I can only add that talc IS carcinogenic and there are several suits out there due to people developing ovarian cancer after years of using talc in their groin.. my younger sister was one of those who did develop fatal ovarian cancer after using talc freely for years, You can use or maybe even MUST use the baby powder that is cornstarch based. I sometimes still see the baby powder with talc in it at the Dollar Tree and I am driven to point it out. It is carcinogenic.

I know this is 5 yrs old but I have to say it came just in time for me. I am at the frustrating point in my watercolor journey that you described. I have been trying to paint roses for 2 months and I keep giving up then going back! I just purchased a couple of new flat brushes to try again... I think the flat brush fairies of fate have looked upon me! No, I haven't had wine yet... thanks again!

Hmm, planning to make a gelli plate and comparing recipes. All a bit variable. They don't all use isopropyl alchoho and I'm wondering what is does in this recipe. Won't it evaporate off very quickly? l also saw a reference somewhere to add a bit of salt to make the plate a bit tougher. But having written all that , a good few people report your recipe and method has worked well so as soon as my ingredients arrive I'll be giving it a go. Thanks for posting.

This gel plate works really well with acrylic paint. Thanks for the recipe! My distress inks and oxides don't work on this gellplate at all. The ink immediately absorbs and dries into the plate so no transfer is possible. Does anyone know why? Is it the alcohol?

Thank you! I dont have a printer but can draw what I want. Im going to try it for an eagle I want to turn into an Early American style plaque. Ive already got the clear plastic paper organizers like the ones you use. Perfect. I will stencil the eagle onto a board then go back and paint some details. Thank you so much! The "soddering" iron is one of those words spelled nothing like it gets pronounced. Weird huh? The L makes no sound. A lot like the word sword... the w is silent. But we totally got this. Lets make something!
