Sung, when the emotion in the situation was fresh. And Lindsay lets her sing it to his face, everytime they perform it now. ❤️

Can you imagine with that amazing voice, singing the 1997 live version? OMG.

It's almost impossible to play complex guitar lines like this whilst singing at the same time. Lindsay is the master at this. No one does it better. That's why when Stevie got LB sacked, as she couldn't handle listening to him sing the songs of their breakup every night, they had to hire two people to try to replace him, and they still failed.

This song got Lindsay into FM. They knew HE was the real talent behind all this. He was the real musician and composer. Stevie was just a backup singer. She only got in as Lindsay refused to join unless they took her also. Now since Stevie has jumped back on Mick's D again she has had Lindsay booted from FM since she doesn't like hearing him sing his Rumours songs about their breakup every night.

The halting "and did you say she was pretty" at 2:54 is just devastatingly vulnerable and crestfallen.

I read somewhere that a movie was going to be made about Rhiannon and this song was penned for that. Such a brilliant, beautiful song. It should have been given more attention.

From a female perspective, Lindsey has this image of a heartbreaker back in the day. Not saying that's what happened with him and Stevie, but he has this aura of talented, handsome trouble. Intoxicating eyes, but tread carefully at your own risk.

Wait he was the solo vocal on this originally? I always thought they performed it together and I could swear they had co-writing duties? Or was it like Crystal where Nicks wrote it and Buckingham sang it?

Wow...this is so good...thanks for posting this...this is so raw...like maybe recorded on some cassette recorder at a live event...I'd like to extract this and drop it into Logic to remix it...maybe use today's plugins to get a stereo effect or something...and the bass isn't that prominent in it, so maybe play the bass line over the top of it...Stevie's (Stephanie's) vocal range was really good...this was done in a higher key than what they used on the Buckingham Nicks album...I really love both versions. Again, thanks, and hope you and yours are doing great.

Here's a fantasy: Imagine if Buckingham Nicks had run across Steve and Cassie Gaines before they joined Lynyrd Skynyrd, Steve wrote some great songs for that band. They both were playing around the south during the 73 - 75 years, BN in Alabama and the Gaines' in Georgia. I wonder what kind of music the talented foursome would've made?

Steph telling Lindsey at the very end "Even though we tried. Even though we tried." I guess she did it the old collegiate try w/ Lindsey, but once in FM, she flew away from him as fast as she could.

The photo of Stevie playing the guitar onstage w/ Lindsey - when was that and what song would that be? I've never seen Stevie playing guitar in FM.

A joy to hear Two Ace Singer Songwriters Cover very masterfully a standout 1960s era Doowop Song by Rosie Hamlin and Her Backing group The Originals. John Lennon was a fan of Miss Rosie as well. R.I.P. and Many Thanks for The Musical Exultation that Tom Petty, John Lennon, and Miss Rosie Hamlin provided.🤔🎤💃🌹🎼🎵🎶🎸🥁B.W.
