I have pursued my passion, doing it "late" with no support, family literally banning me doing art as a kid - even when i was obsessed with it and good for my age so i lost my skills. Was able to pursue it in my 20s once i moved out but for first 3-5 years ive lived in poverty trying to learn art and working min wage jobs with 5 flatmates. With time budgeting and buying reduced/second hand stuff became easier and learned to balance stuff better. Covid was a blessing as i have spent almost 8h every day on learning when my work sent everyone home. Did i spent almost decade to have career sacrificing health, social life (what social life???) and other prospects? yeah. Was many times hit in my face how peoples life getting good, lived paycheck to paycheck with hardly ever having spare money to buy stuff for myself so i could have some spare time to learn art. You either have strong foundations from family when youre a kid or you have pay with your soul later one when trying to manage in adulthood. Yeah, now i got lots of health issues from overwork and being late with stuff but...i dont know, im happy ive finally made it especially in time when entry art jobs are hard to get. But it is extremely competitive market and many times i was regretting but knew theres no other way- i was almost 30 with no other prospects and art was only thing i knew i can do, and with no support there was no chance i could have changed career for 4th time. Im happy i have not drowned, but so many did. It is not bad thing to decide you dont want to sacrifice so much.

no time ever spent in pursuit of creating art can be wasted, cheesy as it sounds you’re literally gifting the world with beauty also LOOK you’re still talking and thinking about it, you’re only going to fail when you wake up and don’t think about it at all, once you’ve really abandoned it you got this!!

This was very brave of you to post and honestly our pasts with art trial and error, low success margin, it’s very similar. It takes so much humility for you to own your mistakes at the level you did and honestly I need to sit down and look back now. You deserve more credit though! It made me sad at how you spoke of yourself. Be proud of how far you’ve come!! You’re farther ahead than me. At the same time I’ve squandered so many opportunities so I totally get where you’re coming from. Listening to your story has changed my life, I feel so encouraged to keep trying! Thank you so much for your courage and vulnerability! I pray that all your artistic dreams will be fulfilled in due time.

Hi, it’s my first time watching your video. Thank you for sharing the honest side of being an artist. I feel the biggest enemy is often ourselves, making excuses and comparing too much. Social media can kill passion sometimes😅 I love drawing since I was a kid, but haven’t had the courage to call myself an artist. I’ve mostly posted fanart, and I just realized it’s hard to express my true feelings and create original characters. So I really admire what you've achieved!
@RubysArtsyLife8 күн бұрын
No worries overtime you’ll definitely figure out how to express your feelings through your art! It took my a lot of practice to create an image from an feeling but the more I practice the better I got

Some avenues provide better environments for artists to pursue their passion. I'm working as a 3D generalist for the commercial industry and I've been really enjoying my time. It doesn't pay as good as a nurse or engineer, of course, but I'm comfortable. I'm content with this.

Being an artist and being a KZbinr are two different things. If you want to be an artist, do it because you’re inspired to make that art regardless of KZbin. Put your art out there in real life.

I'm so glad that you are finding your voice. But please do me a huge favor, don't ever in life, please, PLAY THAT DEAD, HYPNOTIC, SAD piano music as your background. Made it very hard and irritating to listen to you. Try another upbeat instrumental or something or nothing. You have a great voice. Thanks. Have a great day. You are destined for greatness. Keep going.❤

Before one enters art school, one should already have a goal on what to do after graduating. Don't just get into art school and then look for whatever job is available later on.
@RubysArtsyLife10 күн бұрын
Yes this is so true! I never went to art school but they have so many different jobs you want to make sure you specialize in the field you want so your portfolio will stand out!
