Netgear Nighthawk R6700 | How To Configure A Static IP Address

Eric shows you how to configure a static IP address on your Netgear Nighthawk R6700 gaming router.
Login to the router. The IP address is 192.168.1.1 by default. The username and password are set on first login and setup. There is no default username and password. If you cannot login, you'll need to reset the router to default factory settings.
Click on the ADVANCED TAB.
On the left side, click on SETUP.
Now click on LAN SETUP.
Here you can configure a static IP for any machine that is currently connected to your router. You can leave the machine set to DHCP. The same IP address will always be reserved for it.

Dude, I have been trying to figure this out for like 2 weeks. Couldn't find it in the owners manual (I'm sure it's there- I just don't know what to look for), been searching reddit, blogs, just digging through the router settings- finally found your video and it took all of 90 seconds to do what I needed. Thanks for this! I was trying to set up my router with reserved IP because it's needed for my Roon ARC connection. I didn't realize there was a "radio" button in front of the existing entry...and it won't take a copy/ paste of the Mac address. This explanation worked perfectly.

Thanks. Great short and succinct video. Kudos. Very weird thing on my 6700. Adding a raspberry pi for my 3d printer. When I am on the main netgear screen it says connected devices of 9 but the pi doesn't show. Only the 8 other devices. I can connect to the pi thru wifi (using Putty) from my pc and it shows the pi connected at ###.###.1.5. But the connected devices list skips slot 5 showing devices at 4 and 6. When I went to advance screen and LAN set up the pi shows at 5. I assigned it to 50 as you described. Saved. Rebooted router, PC and pi. Pi still doesn't show under connected devices but once again if I go to advanced LAN it shows with it now at 50. Hey it works and thats what I needed. Thanks again. Have a blessed day.

Thanks, this was messing with my Ark server settings which is a pain with setting up new port forwards for your personal gaming server. this method worked on my Nighthawk 12 steam ax200 in case anyone needed to know that info. Alson thanks for the help and creating this vid.

Thank you so much for this! Got a quick question, my router always gives a new IP when it's accidentally rebooted (power outage....etc). Does this method still give me the same static IP even after my router is rebooted due to power outage?

can you explain how to enable ipv6 on the r6700v2. i set it to auto configure and also tried setting it to auto detect and still it shows no ipv6 ip address
