How did you go about the planning process? Did you use a computer program to model it? If so which one… If not, what sources did you learn on, or whose ear did you bend?
@DonegalDadRailКүн бұрын
Hi Alan, I start with what space do I have. Then pen and paper to sketch out what I want. Then I use AnyRail to see if it fits and the track geometry works and fits. It It will all depend on scale/gauge you are using and if you are modelling a particular era. @lemingtonstation9899 has a video on AnyRail kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4XWc2Nqab-lkKcsi=4-JBB3AOHe0x2z7s Hope this helps.

so the controller is also the power supply or do I need a separate supply
@DonegalDadRail2 күн бұрын
The controller should come with power supply, most controllers should power 5 to 10 modern locos. If you plan to run more you will need a bigger power supply.
@TheKubelman2 күн бұрын
@@DonegalDadRail Thank you for the rapid reply...Guessing 5-10 locos all running simultaneously ? Not something I'd need or try.
@DonegalDadRail2 күн бұрын
@@TheKubelman Yes that would be it. If you have older locos they can draw a larger current so can run less and you may need a higher amp decoder for them.

I hope that the wild weather so far this winter has done no damage to the Heritage Centre. Interesting to watch the money being spent on the railway to Foynes and at the same time on the Adare ByPass. It looks as though the preserved railway movement in the UK has passed its zenith. Thanks for the Christmas Greetings.TC

Nice to see someone else servicing this historical brand's locomotives, hope to see them running too. The Deltic has a Ringfield motor, the first ever incarnation as designed by electrical engineer Ronald Wyburn of Meccano Ltd. There is a top bearing oiling point on the motor unit and I also apply a tiny amount oil the bottom of the armature. Sometimes the magnet itself can depolarise and the armature itself can fail due to being wound around a plastic core which can break down, but yours sounds fine.
