In answer to your navigation map accuracy thoughts, these seafarers are from a long line of naval navigators who accurately charted the known world. You guys should check out the journey of captain Bligh of the ‘Bounty’, his navigation feat in a lifeboat compares to Shackleton.

I am from a small southern town in North Carolina. I won't forget how our teachers spoke of Sherman. They would say that he was a great general, but an evil man who did not mind killing civilians. They said he liked raiding towns and disregarded women and children. It wasn't until I went to college and took a number of history courses that I discovered how biased my teachers were. Like most historical figures, he was complicated.

Saul Zaentz is also known for owning a HUGE jazz catalog. Most jazz fans will immediately think of Riverside, Prestige, & Milestone labels - Gene Ammons, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Wardell Gray, Thelonious Monk, and Sonny Rollins - when they think of S.Z.

I loved this man. Wherever he was I watched his teams. Especially late night Wazzu game where I'm at. I remember there thing with the James family. It was a whiney self entitled family vs. a well respected coach by everyone. Hmm🤔

I think Harry Nilsson might have been one of the first people to do a short interlude like that but it wasn't for a CD release, but his remix album Aerial Pandemonium Ballet.

Just found this video- subscribed immediately! So much time and care went into the telling of this story; amazing! Loved everything about it-Visuals: stunning and visceral realtime painting, photos, film footage (where did you find it?), maps. Verbiage: great narrative, journal quotes, accounts of the times, etc. Am blown away by the quality of your work. Can’t wait to watch everything else you have created. Thank you!

Keep in mind that all of youtube is currently competing with one of the craziest periods in the history of American politics. Play the long game; you won't regret it.

I know it's cliché but if the saying had examples "there will never be another" Tom Petty would be at the top of the list...and I'm not saying that as in talent wise because there have been plenty of talented artists but just the genuine feel you got from every single song he wrote and then the things he did for artists as in all the fights with the record companies he was just a really grounded guy didn't let the man control him and lived life his way and even ended up dying the way he wanted to die as we seen in his quote... here's to you Tom, you and your music will never die!

As to whether or not Custer was reckless, my recollection from a couple visits to the battlefield is that he ignored advice from his scouts who (as I was told) had a good idea about the size and nature of the encampment. If true, I think that could qualify as reckless.

I would suggest that the use of the word "massacre" should be reserved for the heinous attacks on peaceful villages and not battles between armed soldiers and warriors. Sadly there were several actual massacres during this era, mostly the victims were women and children belonging to neutral tribes not even causing trouble... they were simply "there" and accessible. Not that the murders were all one-sided, but it was certainly more against the Native Americans. It is a disgusting and abhorrent chapter of US history that has been mostly forgotten.

When Little Big Man was mentioned, I thought y’all would reference the movie with Dustin Hoffman playing Little Big Man. A Classic! A line from the movie where Little Big Man tells a half-crazed Custer the opposite of what he should do when all the tribes are spotted and Custer realizes he’s outnumbered, “You go there.” Hilarious!
