I was a librarian in a mid-sized university town, so I found some cool stuff in old newspapers over the years, sometimes about people I had known. When I was a college student, one of my landlords was a Jewish guy whose family owned a downtown department store for many decades. Twenty-five years later while looking through late 1940s issues of our local newspaper, I saw a hometown gossip type item about my future landlord heading to Savannah to prepare for his upcoming wedding at the closest synagogue. Then I saw an article from a few days later about a local farmer and his mule being struck by lightning along the road to Savannah. The mule died but the farmer survived and my landlord was the first person on the scene.

This is great! My local penny(free) paper publishes newspaper clippings from the 1800s. It’s funny to read about fording conditions at the local creeks that we barely notice as we drive over them.

“1889, a number - another summer” I’ve been watching with great anticipation for your next reveal since the channel’s inception with your Mike Leach piece, but was knocked off my feet with your Public Enemy reference. Chuck D has been, well… a revelation to me since, dare I say 1989 when I was first introduced to Rap music and the dissonance that Hank Shockley and the Dust Brothers brought to the masses through the guru himself… Rick Rueben. Bravo, preach on!

As a left leg amputee who is also paralyzed from the waist down, I can tell you I would still be very upset if they chopped off the wrong leg even though I can’t use either of them it’s still my freaking leg! Those don’t grow on trees.

Great idea for a video lol, I love this. Should definitely do another although this was definitely a lot of work. I love the October 31st date choice but the problem being Halloween stuff will take up precious space, meaning you could of got funnier blurbs in that wasted space. That said I'm sure you were looking for funny Halloween stuff.

Going through the back catalog. What a criminally underappreciated channel! Hopefully, the Algorithm Gods shall soon bless you. Looking forward to everything, will forward to many.

I'm sure the 1956 middle east crisis was when Egypt reclaimed control of the Suez Canal from the British.

Except the guy could easily have died from a heart attack before his injuries killed him. Thats what the doctor described , even if they didn’t call it that yet.

All you could find on Jay Gould is that he had a yscht? He was a railroad industrialist and financier. One of the wealthiest men of the 19th century. He was one of the "Robber Barons". WTF?! Google is a hell of a tool. Try it. And take a history class or two. This level of ineptitude is inexcusable. Love Mom
