No, I didn’t but you could use braiding gel if you’d like. Just didn’t feel like I needed it

I honestly don’t know what that is but if I could guess, would it be similar to a subway tile pattern? Like the vertical lines from the step above don’t match up with the ones from under? Kind of like an overlapping look?

Stretching my natural hair beforehand helped a lot and once I got the first row down, I used it as a guide for the rows that followed to try and match them up as straight as possible. And thank you🤎🤎
