Yes, just clear plastic containers. They’re actually intended for reptile keepers and they make for temporary homes for animals whilst their enclosures are being cleaned! 😊

Yes, now! Good for you to find it! I was at Home Depot a few weeks ago and bought a small Monstera. I looked at every one that I could reach. Next day someone on one of my local Facebook groups posted a pic of a variegated one that she had found there that day. Well, buddy boy, was I not pissed! For about 2.5 seconds then I was like, good for her! I obviously wasn’t meant for find it 😊

Oooh you can’t go wrong with a snake plant (Dracaena trifasciata) on your desk! You’ll find it in most plant shops or even DIY type box stores. It’s cheap and easy to care for as it doesn’t need much water. It’s good for an office too because if you’re on annual leave - it’ll most likely survive without water til you’re back! 😊♥️

Fun video! But just letting you know---most of of the Syngonium you showed are actually the same species (Syngonium podophyllum), just different cultivars of that species. I think there are actually only 16 species of Syngonium in existence in the world.

Our Mantras prefer bright filtered light. If they do not get enough light the leaves get a faded look to them. Most of our Mantras sit about four feet from a southern exposure window and about the same distance from some shelves that have grow lights on for 12 hours a day. They seem to thrive there always putting out beautiful new leaves. What they do not want is any kind of direct light. If you have a window that gets direct light you can filter that light with a curtain. How thin or thick the curtain is would depend on the intensity of the light. We never use tap water on them. They do not tolerate chlorine or fluoride or hard water (water having a lot of minerals in it). We use a bottled water that has been purified with reverse osmosis. Some people swear by distilled water. When using distilled water a fertilizer must be used on a regular basis (according to directions). Organic fertilizer usually works best for tropical plants. We use worm castings for that reason and the Mantras seem to do very well with it. Not having enough light and using the wrong type of water are the quickest ways to get crispy leaves and leaves that do not develop properly.
