I know when taking the carb out on that bike its easier to take out the air filter and that part in front and the carb comes quicker instead of prying it but it works !! Good shit man ! How do i remove the tank bro?? The petcock is stuck if yk what i mean.
@limitlesspowersportsservic33946 күн бұрын
You're talking about the long black on of know? Is for there is a Phillips head screws inside you have to unscrew to pull that know off. If it's stopped then you have to try to take the petcock off the gas tank are break the black knob off & replace the whole petcock assembly.
@yasokts6 күн бұрын
Got it! No need to break it off just wiggle it back and forth side to side up and down and it slides right off. Quads all back together thanks man!

Axis 500 nocking in reverse
@limitlesspowersportsservic33945 күн бұрын
I personally never heard of a motor knocking when it's in reverse. Now it could be something to do with the reverse gear. But definitely not a piston or crank issue. Could be a drive shaft could be a rear differential issue. But the motor is actually knocking it would knock all the time as far as being a rod or piston slap.

If you fired it up you risked a hydro lock in one or more cylinders. This can bend a rod and or valve stem. I've dealt with this before. It's a stuck float valve on one or more of the carbs, and a problem with the vacuum valve on the tank petcock. Easy peasy to rebuild the carbs, but you have to balance them after. But before you try to fire it up again, pull the spark plugs, put a long screwdriver down the plug hole, rotate the motor by hand to find TDC and BDC. Measure each cylinder stroke and compare to make sure you didn't bend a rod. This is why I drained my tank and carb bowls every year for winter layup.

I have an 03 250ex fuel screw is at 2 1/2 carb has been cleaned and gone through. It will idle but when you blip the throttle it kinda hangs a bit before coming down. I have sprayed everything before and after the carb with carb cleaner to check for leaks and have not really found anything. And pointers?
@limitlesspowersportsservic33949 күн бұрын
Make sure you have the idle turned down to where it's supposed to be. Also you may need to come out a little bit further on the mixture screw. Usually when it hangs up like that means it's lean off throttle at idle. Also if you rev it up and it goes below idle then picks back up means you're too far out on the mixture screw. So when you set the mixture screw you turn it out until you get the highest idle then set your mixture screw right about there, then adjust the idle accordingly

Last question from a non mechanic what direction is that thrust bearing supposed to go.
@limitlesspowersportsservic339411 күн бұрын
Give me the one-way bearing behind the wet clutch drum? If that's what you're referring to as a Thrust bearing you will have the numbers and arrows facing towards you when you install it onto the motor. Or if you install it into the wet clutch drum the numbers and arrow will be facing into the wet clutch drum that still would be facing towards you when it's installed
@waynemackenziesr500512 күн бұрын
Same model same year and one thing I didn't hear you talk about is how you took off the secondary clutch off the shaft because the seat frame prevents me from pulling it all the way off the shaft. Does the spring separate from the pulley on the secondary this is somewhere around 42 - 01
@limitlesspowersportsservic339412 күн бұрын
No you have to have a spring compressor or a secondary clutch compressor that actually take the spring off of that. There is just barely enough room to get the secondary clutch between the frame and the transmission input shaft. I'm talking about a tiny tiny bit

I have never seen anyone do a brick ledge that wide before. Usually I see 1-1/2" with the tubing sitting on top of the concrete, and the ledge below. I work in the metal buildings industry and we tell our customers not to do this because water will linger under the tubing and rust. I really hope your contractor sealed the bottom. Good luck.
@limitlesspowersportsservic339416 күн бұрын
With you being in the metal building industry you should know the fact that Carolina Carports wants you to have at least 12 inches of concrete outside edge flat all the way around and these metal buildings you know for a fact being in the business that they leak underneath the footings that are all the way around when they are placed on the concrete slab. So with the dropped Edge like that this keeps all the water from in treating it to my building. Does it make a difference if it was on a flat piece of concrete the same height or not Carolina Carports again said they wanted at least one foot extra all the way around the building to place the building. Now tell me if that's not insane for something stupid like that. So this was a recommendation I got from a few other metal building contractors to do it this way. So I really don't know what the difference between have it set on a flat piece of concrete the same height or width that dropped Edge like that with water possibly being underneath the footings like that. In Carolina Carports installers do not seal the bottom of the building when they put them on it specifically in their contract and they want you to do that yourself so that's why I decided to go with the dropped Edge like I do have. It has been phenomenal and I have had zero water intrusion anywhere. But I definitely keep an eye on to make sure that things are not causing any issue
@DoubleDiamondRanch202511 күн бұрын
@ I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t understand most of what you said. But if they recommend it maybe they know something I don’t.

What do you recommend if my 02 honda 250ex will start but shuts off when I give it throttle? Will idle fine fully chocked
@limitlesspowersportsservic339416 күн бұрын
You definitely need to do a complete carburetor clean and possibly rebuild. Sounds like your pilot jet is what's clogged and that is what controls the idle circuit. That's why it will run with choke because it bypasses that idle circuit. And then you also need to make sure you adjust a mixture screw up early once you put the carburetor back together

Don't matter what brand you buy they all have issues just depends how you break them cause these things are expensive
@travismorgan424917 күн бұрын
Just google hard shifting UTV and you will find 100 posts from owners of brand new Polaris / Can-Am in the forums where CVT was not correctly aligned and secondary is turning at idle causing you not to be able to shift unless you cut the machine off. Based off the forums, 90% of Polaris / Can-Am dealers don't even know how to fix this issue and think its a cable adjustment issue, even though you tell them if you turn it off it shifts freely. Thankfully we have youtube and few great dealers that have shown us how to fix this issue with the shims that were supposed to be adjusted by manufacturer. My point is even the more expensive machines have plenty of issues and dealers that have no clue how to work on them
@limitlesspowersportsservic339417 күн бұрын
@travismorgan4249 I work for a Can-Am dealer before and yes I understand that every manufacturer has its issues. I have worked for a can-am, honda, kawasaki, yamaha, suzuki, triumph, pretty much almost every major manufacturer. And everybody has their issues but on these machines it's more predominant unfortunately. The bad part is it's sad that they don't know how to fix the issue unfortunately and that would be lack of knowledge.
