What make model guitar is that?? What happened to the Martin??
@Telecoaster94music9 күн бұрын
@@ElChupacabra77B that is a Zager ZAD80, I still have my Martin, I acquired a new Martin a few months ago, it’s made a few appearances in a couple of my passed videos. The Martin’s still my number one lol.
@ElChupacabra77B9 күн бұрын
@@Telecoaster94music Was the Zager ZAD80 there to be used in place of the McGlincy (a rare hard to find make guitar Lightfoot used in later years)?? I do know that you used an Epiphone Hummingbird 12 in place of a B45 (Lightfoot’s trademark strumming guitar) though when listening to you review the instrument.
@Telecoaster94music9 күн бұрын
@@ElChupacabra77B funny you say that because yes lol, that’s one of the main draws for me of the zager. If a Mcglincy had been mass produced , I’d certainly try one of those. The zager is a good guitar in many ways. But there’s certainly something about the Martin that no other acoustic does for me. Their tone is unmatched

OK. Once more I visited you video page. It's great to see so many Gordon Lightfoot songs. He's the best and I'm glad you recognize this in your music. If you haven;t already and you get a chance, listen to his album Solo. Just Gordon and his guitar. Yes he has aged but he is still the best. Cheers

It was played live in 1979 while warming up for recording DSR. I was in the audience with my Dad and they played this. Back when they played LOUD! They retired the song almost immediately. Never heard it again.

'Spanish Moss.' Erotic, sensuous, triple entendres celebrating his first wife's womanhood, body, their romantic meeting in Georgia after their divorce and the regret he'll never have her back. All of the song written years after the divorce. He wrote 'Beautiful for her, as well. When the divorce was finalized. Not to mention every one of his best love songs and songs of deep regret written from the start to end of his career. To say he never got over her is an understatement.
