Except that the layer options did no appear on my version of Krita, your tutorial was reasonably good. Krita has a horrible text tool

I do not want to do a graphic design of art + text. I simply want to keep a digital art sketchbook, where I draw out my design ideas, & write word notes on the same page, in a left margin, with no need to transform or give shadows, etc. What is the best method to do this digital sketchbook + notes? Is krita good? Can you copy/ paste text in krita to your wordprocessor? I want to learn to use krita anyways, after study of photoshop i colllege, but i need free program. Should I make each note a separate box or create one big box for all notes? Should I just hand write the notes (as I always worry about page size/ scale... how to get this to compare to 8 1/2 x 11 page). (I have wacom one tablet). What if text notes need a second page? What is best file format / low size, to save a text + art notebook? pdf? I may want to extract the art sometimes, to make a new file or to print it as a template. Is there a better free option than krita to do a digital sketchbook + text notes? (I use windows pc). thanks. You get 'subscribe' for sure with answer!! I've struggled a long time to figure this out.
