HOW TO use Text Tool in Krita | Easy Beginner friendly Tutorial guide | photoshop cc

Always hated this text tool on Krita. Probably one of their worst tools if you compare it to any text tool from graphic editors such as Photoshop, pixlr and so on. Why on earth do you need a toolbox, can't they just display directly the result on your picture ??? This is so counter-intuitive and a pain-in-the-ass to edit. Anyway thanks for the tutorial.

No problem bro✌️.But yeah it's one of the worst tools krita has, especially if u compare it with even other open source softwares like gimp. They need to get this one reworked 🔥

YES! Text in Krita is horrible. The visual update is super slow and glitchy. I find most of the text settings don't work. Does not have full justifications. No cap control (small caps, all caps, first cap.) Needs major work. I always check the release notes hoping for text tool improvements. If the text I want to do is complex I do it in inkscape and import it into Krita. It is a free work around but it eats time.

DAMN ur right.! I have used many diff programs and it's ultra bizarre they made what SHOULD be a simple process into something so bloody convoluted. I had 4 paragraphs I wanted to put onto the sheet yet it did not let me scale the text. It kept dispersing it. Screw this I'm just gona use MS /sigh

I just use medibang when I want text. Does what I need it to do.

Thank you so much! I appreciate that you are beginner-friendly, as a lot of tutorials seem to assume basic knowledge of krita or similar programs and how to navigate them. It's also amazing that your tutorials are so general (as in you show how to use the tools for anything and everything, rather than specifically for drawing or a specific type of project), as I'm using krita for image editing rather than drawing original pieces. One more thing I love is that you have short and single-focus videos, so I don't need to try and find 2 minutes of relevant info in a 30+ minute tutorial, and your video titles are very descriptive so I can tell if a video will be relevant to me or not just from that. I am really grateful for your work, thank you!

I do not want to do a graphic design of art + text. I simply want to keep a digital art sketchbook, where I draw out my design ideas, & write word notes on the same page, in a left margin, with no need to transform or give shadows, etc. What is the best method to do this digital sketchbook + notes? Is krita good? Can you copy/ paste text in krita to your wordprocessor? I want to learn to use krita anyways, after study of photoshop i colllege, but i need free program. Should I make each note a separate box or create one big box for all notes? Should I just hand write the notes (as I always worry about page size/ scale... how to get this to compare to 8 1/2 x 11 page). (I have wacom one tablet). What if text notes need a second page? What is best file format / low size, to save a text + art notebook? pdf? I may want to extract the art sometimes, to make a new file or to print it as a template. Is there a better free option than krita to do a digital sketchbook + text notes? (I use windows pc). thanks. You get 'subscribe' for sure with answer!! I've struggled a long time to figure this out. It can be done, You my have to drag your text box to the size you need when you start. I find the text tool the weakest part of Krita. If I have complex text, I do it in Inkscape and import it into Krita.

I'm confused with the placeholder text, when i add text they go to the same layer as the before. Then i can't even click it to delete it, if i delete layer the new and old ones also gets deleted lmao And i cant even undo/redo, that new text will still be there I need more guidance xD

Yes, this is annoying. Create a new vector layer for each new element of text.
