How easy is it to buy the train ticket and move around the station in Shanghai? Do some people speak English?
@AprilandTimTravel4 ай бұрын
Almost noone in China wants to speak English despite often being very good. But people don't mind using translate apps.

Maybe it’s not ‘doing something on the gauge”. Instead, it would be more exact if you say replacing wheels. The standard process is to hoist the whole car out of its original wheels, and push away these wheels, and then push in new ones on wide gauge(1524mm). Finally the hoister put down the car. Anyway it’s an amazing video! Thanks for sharing your precious and unforgettable experience! I am a Shanghainese who has travelled in Mongolian by train three times.

Nice Vid of your experience! Where did you park for your stop at the Canal? Do you just pull off the main highway? Passing thru there and it would be fun to stop!
@AprilandTimTravel Жыл бұрын
Yes we just parked nearby and walked over, from memory there were plenty of places to park. Have fun! 😀

thanks so much - did you stay on the highway then, and just pull over? Trying to prepare my other half lol@@AprilandTimTravel

Yes there were open spaces to park, not a carpark as such, but you shouldn't have any issues 👍

If one drove from Athens to Sparta, could that be considered a day trip? How far is this from Athens? Planning to travel there soon. Thanks !
@AprilandTimTravel Жыл бұрын
You could do it in a day trip, however there is plenty to see along the way so you'd want to allow time to stop and look at things, so leaving early in the day would be best.

Is this legal to camp like this? I wanted to tent in Greece but it seems they don't allow it to set up a camp outside ot the the campingsites.
@AprilandTimTravel Жыл бұрын
As far as we know, as long as you aren't on private property then it's ok, providing you are not too close to houses and keep a low profile etc. Groups of people/cars free camping together might be a different story though.

I just returned from visiting St. Petersburg and Moscow. It was my very first trip to Russia and it was so amazing. I do agree with you regarding the metro and every station is very unique in its own rights. I was using lines 3 and 5. I must say it's marvelous engineering and architecture in my humble opinion. For the first time when I took the escalator deep down to the station, I was so taken by it. So many lines interconnecting and parrel stations from above. Super clean, well maintained, and easy access to any part of the city. Also very safe to walk around any time of day or night. Overall I had a great and positive experience. You have to be there to experience these two awesome cities. I will be visiting soon to explore different cities God willing. Readers may God Bless you and keep you safe.

My father worked on the ghan and the trans train now knowing as the Indian pacific for 25 years as a chef ,but the meals were more like meals you had at home I travel on the trans train every school holidays with my dad and the crew ,the meals were so good, I have sets of the menus from those trips ,my ex also worked on them also ,and now my son some times drives the iPhone to broken Hill, I also work for the railway s there is one meal that is not served on either train now ,and there was car /on the back of the train knowing as the observation car half cabins and the rest a round car where you could sit and see just how straight the line was for miles that was back in the fiftys and sixths cheers

Can not understand why they would use crocodile when we have beef and lamb ,my dad would star work at 4 in the morning while train was running, but started cooking meats in parkston in kalgoorlie, and in car barn in Port pirie ,I would help the pantry man peel the potatoes, all food was good fresh on the train ,I have look at what the meals that are served now and have to say they leave a lot to be desired.

This scam is wellknown, in your case a woman, I have been approached by a friendly 'travel-guide', also english teacher' asking where I was going, warning that it was closed, of course. I was starting a vacation, I knew about this scam. I met some travel-companiors who would do the same trip as I. So, we already met, and wanted to see the Grand Palace. A 'guide of a travel-agency'approached us on the way. Asking questions. Before I could warn the others he 'called'a 'passing' tuktuk (well, a set-up) and the others jumped into the tuktuk almost immedaitely !!I was like right, but I let them go. Later they told me they bought nice jewelry and some clothes, away about 4 hours, seeing simple temples and several shops. BUT WORSE, In this case I did not notice before, and WAS scammed in Patong-Phuket. They sold it as a city-trip !!!!! I booked a city-trip, the next morning I was oicked up by a van. First going to some nice places, till the shops-part started !!! Honey-shop, cashew-shop, and the 'coffee-break' (without any information) was the biiiiiggest jewelry shop I had eeeever seen, one route, no pictures, busses full of tourists at the entrance. Old town ? Well, seeing pictures of the real old town they were different, another shop, end of tour, back to the hotel...

Absolutely you can! It seems daunting at first but when you do it it's just like hiring a car and driving back home. The freedom of going wherever you want is amazing, you get to see the real Sicily and not just the tourist spots.

@waltersickinger14992 жыл бұрын
It’s cheaper to pick up your car in downtown Palermo. An Avis rental through AutoEurope picked up on Via Francesco Crispi is about 10% cheaper than airport. You don’t seem to know of what you speak.

Between Kalamata and Sparta, there is an ultra-modern motorway that reduces the time to half an hour. But visitors generally prefer to go through the mountain Taygetus for better scenery! You're doing a great job, thank you, and congratulations! Enjoy every bit of your traveling around in beautiful Greece.
