Heard dot fluid deteriorates the rubber in magura systems
@UpAllNight917 сағат бұрын
I imagine it could. I should have mentioned we had good luck using DOT 4, never tried 3 or 5 magura though. We ran it in bikes for a couple of years with no issue, although not sure if we just got lucky. But years ago I put dot 3 in a bike that called for dot 5 and it swelled the rubber parts in the master cylinder up and we needed to repair.
@Yz_RedbeardКүн бұрын
Maybe stupid question but cant find any info anywhere on it. But when using the spacer are you running 3 gaskets? Like 1 cylinder to spacer 1 between spacer and vforce cage and 1 between cage and carb boot?? Ive heard these have air leak issue and just want to make sure this thing seals and no issues. Thanks and btw love the channel
@UpAllNight917 сағат бұрын
Hello. I am running 2 OEM gaskets (although the paper ones will work too or a combo of one paper and one OEM). The OEM ones are reusable and last forever. I use one between the spacer and cylinder, and one between the spacer and reed cage. It does not need one between the reed cage and rubber intake boot because the rubber boot has a sealing lip on it that does the trick (also using one between thee reed cage and rubber boot can cause it leak because the rubber lip will miss the gasket in some areas). On a side note, I too hear people say they can leak but I have never had a 3 or 4 leak on me. I don't know they they are way over tightening them or if they are trying to use a gasket between the cage and rubber boot but I have not had a problem with leaking.

Hey brother awesome video, QQ I bent one of my valves, but had a question on what I should replace on the valves. I bought all springs but after watching this video I probably don't need to replace every one. Do I need to replace all shims as well or do they last a long time? New doing it myself mechanic so appreciate the insight.
@UpAllNight91Күн бұрын
Hello. I like to replace the springs if you are replacing the valves and they are old (over 200 hours). Springs are usually cheap. But if it is young (100 hours or less) then reusing the springs should be ok. I suggest only using OEM valves and springs. OEM valves are titanium and light weight, which use lighter tension springs which is less wear and tear on the timing chain and stuff. Shims are re-usable as long as they look good and are not worn in or dug in.

Hello. I am 150 pounds. I think at 220 it will be ok for a slower rider but for a faster rider it will surely be better going up on the springs. The optional stiffer springs Yamaha sells for this bike would probably be perfect at 220.

Do you happen to know what might be wrong with my 2023 crf250r if the estart works and everything when cold but bike just won’t start unless I bump start it? Then once bike is warm estart mostly works. Do you maybe know the issue(s)?
@UpAllNight91Күн бұрын
Hello. If when cold it cranks over but fails to start unless its push started. But once hot it will start for the most part by just hitting the button. Thats most likely worn out intake valves from too much dirt getting past the air filter. What I would do is remove the valve cover and check the valve clearance on the intake valves. If they are so tight that you cant even slide the smallest feelers gauge in then it will surely need new intake valves. You could adjust them to get it to start up and run as usual but the problem will come back within just a few hours. because once the valves sealing seat is worn they will just keep wearing out progressively and will keep tightening up the valve clearance till it doesn't start when cold again unless push started. So new OEM intake valves will be the fix if you find your current ones tight.

What’s up man, I recently found a a 2006 YZ 125 for about $2600. $2600 (2006 YZ 125) Worth it? The seller is selling the bike because he does not have enough time to ride it. The previous owner before that took it to the track most of the times but he had to sell it because he had kids. Recent top end rebuild last spring, the seller says the bike has no problems and runs perfect. Do you think it is worth it? I read that the YZ 125 from 2006 and up are all pretty much the same and these bikes are fairly easy to work on.

Hello. The 2006 to 2021 are fairly the same, but there was little minor improvements made throughout the years to the brakes and a suspension and such. But overall about the same. Hey mate what did you do to modify the kx250 so the power valve opened? If it's a long story you don't have to msg back I understand. Just I've done this test on my yz250 and it didn't move so took the case off and ball-bearings fell out on the floor. I ended up figuring it out it was the governor thing with the spring and 4 balls. Put all back 100% perfect yet she still not move 😢 crazy thing is I swear it still hits band and so do 2 other guys but others are saying it's not hitting band at all. I'm lost at this point. Great informative video as always mr sensay master. I've learnt so soooo much from watching your Chanel, the way you do things is beautiful, it's like artwork.

Thanks! On the KX250 is was working it just wasnt opening up far enough. I bent the rod that goes up the side of the cylinder just a little to get it top be able to open the power valve all the way. But dont try that on the YZ250. Even the slightest bend of that rod and it will snap and break on the YZ. If your governors ball bearings all slipped out on their own I would be suspect of the governor and maybe just try a different one. Maybe pick up a good used one on ebay to try out?

@UpAllNight918 күн бұрын
@@Seth-s5n The 4 strokes can snap a rod at some point. They can check out perfectly fine with a good rod bearing and all but after so many hours of usage and if ran to hard to long they just snap the rod out of no where with no warning. If its just a trail bike or riden easy then they can go over 200 hours easy but if used on the track by more skilled riders then every 200 hours a new crank should be installed to keep things safe. On the other hand on a 2 stroke they dont break rods on their own unless something else goes out first like a lower rod bearing. But otherwise they dont break rods. So if the lower rod bearing is in good shape and the left and right play measure out good and there is no up and down play its safe to keep running them no matter the hours.

Hey man. Can’t find a video on valve check of yours so will post question here. My intakes are on the tightest side of spec. They were in middle a year ago. I’ve noticed it takes a little longer to start with magic button. Any benefits of shimming when still in spec?
@UpAllNight918 күн бұрын
Hello. If they are still within spec they will be fine and you wont notice a difference if you dig in and set them to dead middle of the range. It wont improve the starting up. When they begin to not start up as fast as they once did I often find two things that can cause this. A battery that is aged. When these lithium batteries age they do become weaker. They will still turn over fine but because the battery is a little weaker and since most the power is going to the starter motor there is less power available for the spark and the fuel pump, causing delayed or lazy starting. Another thing that causes this is when the bikes piston is aged and could used a new top end, if you do a top end be sure to include a timing chain. A new chain will advance the cam timing back to where it needs to be which also helps starting.
