Nice work my friend.. I've seen a few Reliant builds , but I've got to say that I really think this is best.. And a couple of those were pretty nice . But I've got to go with this one. 👍 Fantastic Job #1🏆🥇

I had the board custom made. See my lighting video if you'd like to know the circuit I used. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZC9ZKSGp7xsicksi=xEETrtCmBBXCQ5zH You can also buy commercial circuit boards from the likes of Tenacontrols (for a price).

Doing my Enterprise 1:1000 now. Just finished the 1:1000 Reliant which was fun to build and light. Though I used fiber optics which I will not use for Enterprise. As I lost the strobes on the nacelles. Good work!

Awesome model!!! How did you do the strobes? I've been looking everywhere for strobes tiny enough to work on a starship model this size without any luck.

Thanks. I use 0805 SMD LEDs for the strobes and hook them up to a strobe circuit. For more info see kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZC9ZKSGp7xsick

That's fantastic!!! Thanks for posting the link to the sketch. I have a few questions. What are the component values on the MAX7219 board, R1 and the cap? What voltage are you running the buck converter at? What are the black disks on the bottom of the LEDs? Did you buy them or make them?
@js_models Жыл бұрын
Thanks. R1 looks like it was 68 kohm. You can play around with the value to adjust the brightness of the LEDs. There are two filter capacitors across the voltage input and ground (10 uF and 0.1uF). I use the buck converter to bring the 12 V supply down to 9 V, which powers the arduino and the LEDs inside the model. The black disks are covers for the LEDs and are supplied with the laser cut display.
@robertherriges6807 Жыл бұрын
@@js_models THANK YOU for the reply. I got an 8 x 14 for the enterprise off eBay for half price. Should make a great base for my 1/350 refit build. It didn't include the LED covers. Just gathering everything I'll need before I start. I plan on using an arduino for the Enterprise start up sequence as in the 1st movie
@js_models Жыл бұрын
@@robertherriges6807 Sounds great. The LED covers aren’t essential. You can probably glue the LEDs in just fine.

This may be the most well done model of the Reliant of that scale I've seen. Bravo! The 1:1000s tend to have a particularly "artificial" and almost toy-like look to them from what I've seen but this looks quite good. You've really made the scale seem proper and that's not an easy thing the smaller the modle's scale becomes.
