2021 Model Y. We love it. Regenerative breaking great. Rarely use the break pedal. Not looking to change to a newer Tesla anytime soon. But, when we do, I am looking forward to no stalks. We think having no stalks a great idea. It is just the matter of getting used to it. This old dogs loves learning new tricks!

One of the EVs had a moving display showing the direction of the electrons, i.e. from the battery to the motors and in regen mode it would show from motors to battery.. In your Model 3 the regen does add some electrons back to the battery but at the slower around town speed you as the driver may not notice that action.

I think it probably works for the US, where i have noticed people drive rather "polite", stop at the crossing and give each other priority and people actually indeed slow down calmy. However in Europe, your priority can be abruptly taken, traffic rules are "more or less" followed because there are much less controls to it, and aggressive driving is common. Hence your foot is relatively always close to the break pedal to intervene, thus letting go the accelerator is common. With a Tesla this is then not only annoying but even dangerous to think you can keep driving with one foot in Europe. I think Tesla should provide the option to switch it off, just like BMW and Mercedes provide the option.

So what happens in traffic when you let your foot off the accelerator it starts to slow down but is it like an adapted cruise

Yes, it starts to slow down immediately. I’ve never used adaptive cruise🤔
