Is it possible to still get into college wrestling even though i graduated last year?
@CoachCoco
@CoachCoco 25 күн бұрын
@@dragofire9078 yes, reach out to the college coach and show interest. Let them know your level and years of experience. If you have limited I would look for a wrestling club to learn the sport.

Hey, I got a stress fracture a month and a half ago and I went to the doctor’s today and he said I was clear to wrestle but my knee still hurts when I take a shot or when I put pressure on it. Do you think it’s because I haven’t used it in a while or is it because my knee is still fractured? Thanks!

Anytime you are coming back from an injury consult with your physician , but also if you have access to sport therapists or athletic trainers at your school or university see what they have to say. Also, I suggest utilizing a knee pad. And building the strength and muscles in the knee joints. Remember, be patient and understand it is part of the process as you return to play.

@@AmareWhey I would recommend working on stance, level change, penetration steps, and getting in really good shape. Need to have good cardio so start running yesterday! Reach out to the coach and see if there are any pre-season open mats you can attend. Good luck!

Great question, I would reach out to your college’s coach and see if you can practice with the team. In addition, you can join the local club and learn technique a few days a week. It will be a challenge, but like they say anything great takes work! Good luck!

I agree somewhat. I never wrestled but I train bjj. I think most wrestlers that took the sport seriously can step on a jiu-jitsu match and hold there own but not the other way at lower levels. I wish I wrestled because now I can't beat a wrestler in the stand up game but I usually get them in the grapple
@CoachCoco
@CoachCoco Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! It always develops a competitive mindset that helps when the skill levels are lower. Takedowns matter a lot in grappling, combing both wrestling and BJJ is a deadly convo. Check out my takedown videos if you’re looking to improve your stand up.

What type of gpa is generally needed?is 3.0 fine or below average?
@CoachCoco

I would highly suggest keeping it above a 3.0 in order to give yourself the highest possibility in getting into your academic institution of choice. If you have more specific questions feel free to e-mail me for a free consult.
