Is baklava turkish? Must we say "turkish coffee"? Sometimes, when i talk about Turkey, my mind stays in such matters for a while. I wish that all our disputes with our neighbours were of such matters. Like a friendly dispute around a table between long time friends. Something that makes your day and your good mood. And, by the way, would such a change make coffee or baklava tastier? At the island of Rhodes there is a pastry shop (one among many). The origins of their owners are Turkish. Their father was known as "the Turk" by those that did not know his name. When i was young, during one of my visits to Rhodes, and in the company of relatives that live there i was told this: - If you want baked sweets we will go to the Turk. You won't believe the taste. You will forget every other pastry maker, this guy really cooks like an artist". Unity brings strength. The origin of coffee is just a historical and cultural matter. It will make more informed, ok, but i doubt it will make us wiser (my favorite is the arabic coffee by the way, the one with cardamom inside). It is called cultural exchange and it brings progress, improvement. It also brings beauty, something that we all need. We and Turkish are more similar than some others believe. And, apart from our goverments (who usually don't care about our own wellbeing) we have no quarrel between us. And we can gain more by being together. Unity brings strength. Salute and love to all Turkish people from a Greek.

As a descendant of Syriac Christians who were brutalized by the Turkish people, who lost history, churches, and extended family to Islamic extremism and later radical Turkic nationalism, I will never accept the Turk as a friend. That’s like asking a Jew to befriend a Nazi, or a Native American to be friends with an American government agent.

@ I don’t your name but! It shouldn't be that hard to understand ethnogenesis, Turks came from East Asia and Central Asia like Hungarians, they had different ethnogenesis there for centuries there as well since Bronze age! I personally carry their heritage but that doesn't mean they didn't mix with the people living where they did reach . Just like you!
